新品ですがナット高が非常に高い状態です。

溝が埋めた様な痕もあり、新品でもこうした個体があるのは珍しいです。
埋めた後で溝切りをしなかった様な状態にも思います。

元が高過ぎる事から削った後はかなり弾き易くなりました。

一時期にインドネシア製もクオリティが高くなり、低価格帯ながら充分な精度だったのに近年は精度が下がってきた様にも思うので個体はしっかりと状態を確認して購入された方が良いです。

This is a nut slot adjustment for an Ibanez RGD71ALMS.

Although it’s brand new, the nut height is extremely high.

There are also marks that look like the slots were filled in, which is rare even for a brand-new instrument.
It looks as though the slots were filled in without being re-cut afterward.

Since the original height was too high, the guitar became much easier to play after I shaved it down.

For a while, the quality of Indonesian-made guitars improved significantly, offering sufficient precision even in the lower price range. However, I feel that precision has declined in recent years, so I recommend carefully checking the condition of each instrument before purchasing.

フェンダーメキシコ製ジャズベースのPU交換・セットアップです。

元のノイズレスPUからフェンダーカスタムショップ製60ｓに交換です。

音の輪郭が分かり易くなり、音の形が見え易いベースサウンドになったと思います。

フェンダーのノイズレスPUはギターもベースも音がコモる傾向に思います。
その為、音の形が見え難く劣化が強い印象がありますが交換する事で改善が可能です。

This is a pickup replacement and setup for a Fender Mexico Jazz Bass.

I replaced the original Noiseless pickups with Fender Custom Shop 60s pickups.

I think the sound has become more defined, resulting in a bass tone where the shape of the notes is easier to discern.

I find that Fender’s Noiseless pickups tend to make both guitars and basses sound muddy.
As a result, the tone lacks definition and feels somewhat degraded, but this can be improved by replacing them.

フェルナンデス製オーダーギターのセットアップ・PU修正です。

音の出力が変わるとの事で細かくチェックしてみるとPUのコネクタ部分が外れかけており、これが原因で接触不良の様な状態になっていた様子です。

またPU高調整のビスが付いてるブッシュが抜けており、高さ調整が不可能な状態になっておりました。

接着剤でブッシュを接着と、盛って補強し抜けない様に加工しました。

特に使用していて問題も起きていないので大丈夫そうです。

EMG等のコネクタ系で配線が短い（突っ張っている状態）と使用していて振動等でコネクタが抜けてきますので要注意です。

電装パーツがハンダ付けするポット等の場合、作業をした人が配線を短く切って付いている事が多いので要注意です。

リペア業界でもそうですが「配線は無駄な長さを切り、綺麗に配線する」が主流ですが私は疑問です。

確かに見た目は綺麗ですが、使用していて電装パーツは消耗品なので交換するタイミングが必ず来ます。
その際に配線が短いと作業がやり難かったり、上記の様なトラブルが起こります。

そうした意味でもある程度は余裕を持たせて配線した方が良いです。

This is a setup and pickup repair for a custom-made Fernandez guitar.

The owner reported a change in sound output, so upon closer inspection, I found that the pickup connector was coming loose, which appeared to be causing a poor connection.

Additionally, the bushing holding the pickup height adjustment screw had come out, making it impossible to adjust the height.

I secured the bushing with adhesive and reinforced it to prevent it from coming loose.

Since no issues have arisen during use, it seems to be working fine.

Be careful with EMG and similar pickups where the wiring is short (tightly stretched), as vibration during use can cause the connector to come loose.

For electronic components like soldered pots, be aware that the person who performed the work often cuts the wiring short before installing them.

As is common in the repair industry, the prevailing practice is to “cut off excess wire length and route it neatly,” but I have my doubts about this.

While it certainly looks neat, electrical components are consumables, so the time will inevitably come when they need to be replaced.
If the wiring is too short at that point, it makes the work difficult or can lead to the kind of trouble described above.

For that reason, it’s better to leave some extra length when routing the wiring.

弦高が高い状態です。

アコギは消耗品と考えた方が良く、長年使用していれば弦張力によりハイ起き・トップ浮きで弦高は自然と高くなっていきます。

サドルを削って直すのも有限な為、いずれ限界が来たら買い替える物と考えた方が良いです。

サドルを削って弦高を下げ弾き易い状態に仕上げました。

音がかなり良いモデルで流石ヤマハと思います。
こちらは高価格帯モデルですが、ヤマハ製のアコギは低価格帯からでも音質が良いのでお勧めです。

Adjusting the string height on a Yamaha LL26.

The string height is currently too high.

It’s best to think of acoustic guitars as consumable items; over many years of use, string tension causes the bridge to rise and the top to lift, naturally increasing the string height.

Since there’s a limit to how much you can shave down the saddle, it’s better to consider replacing the instrument once it reaches that limit.

I shaved down the saddle to lower the string height and make it easier to play.

This is a model with excellent sound quality—truly a testament to Yamaha’s craftsmanship.
Although this is a high-end model, Yamaha acoustic guitars offer great sound quality even in their lower price ranges, so I highly recommend them.

ボリュームポットが手に当たるので無くしたいとの事でトーンを無くし、その位置にボリュームを移動しました。

セットアップしてみると弦高低めでも問題無く弾ける状態です。
低価格帯でも精度はそれなりにしっかりしてるので、弦高低めのセッティングにも対応しました。

音がトレブリー、ステンレスフレットで音硬めでモダン系です。
ローステッドメイプルの影響も加わった音なのかもしれませんが音は見た目通りハイゲイン系で活躍しそうです。

This is a setup and rewiring job for a Harley Benton Fusion 3.

The customer wanted to remove the volume pot because it got in the way, so I removed the tone control and moved the volume pot to that position.

After setting it up, it plays perfectly fine even with the strings set low.
Even in the lower price range, the precision is quite solid, so it handled the low-string-height setup well.

The tone is trebly, with a hard, modern sound thanks to the stainless steel frets.
The roasted maple may also be contributing to the tone, but as expected from its appearance, it seems like it will excel in high-gain settings.

ギブソン製レスポールのペグ交換・ブリッジ交換・セットアップです。

ペグはGOTOHの同型ロック式へ、アルミテールピースに交換しました。

金属パーツは交換するだけでも音に変化を与えます。
GOTOH製品は金属が硬く丈夫な事から音も硬くなる傾向です。

またロック式ペグは金属シャフトが1本の棒から内部にロック機構を搭載するので弦振動を伝え具合が変わるのか、ノーマルペグからロック式ペグに交換すると低音が落ちる様に思います。

テールピースがアルミで軽くなった事から音が硬く抜けが良くなった様に思います。
音抜けが良くなったというよりも、こちらも金属比重が軽くなるので低音が落ちて音が抜け易くなっていると思います。

音は所詮は好みなので、こうしたパーツを交換してみて自分の好みのサウンドに寄せられるか試した方が良いです。

This is a Gibson Les Paul with new tuners, a new bridge, and a full setup.

I replaced the tuners with matching GOTOH locking tuners and installed an aluminum tailpiece.

Simply replacing metal parts can change the tone.
GOTOH products tend to produce a harder, more aggressive sound because the metal is hard and durable.

Also, with locking tuners, the metal shaft is a single rod that incorporates a locking mechanism internally, which may alter how string vibrations are transmitted. As a result, I feel that switching from standard tuners to locking tuners tends to reduce the low end.

Since the tailpiece is now made of aluminum and is lighter, the sound seems to have become brighter and more projective.
Rather than simply having better projection, I believe this is because the lower density of the metal reduces the low end, making the sound project more easily.

Ultimately, sound is a matter of personal preference, so it’s best to try swapping out these parts to see if you can get a sound that suits your taste.

元はグレコ製PUが付いているとの事ですが、こちらからエピフォン製PUへ交換です。

音が太くパワーがあるサウンドになりました。
エピフォン製PUはサンダーバードの定番PU交換の様子ですがパワフルで低域が鳴るのでアンサンブル上で良いベースサウンドになると思います。

This is a pickup replacement for a Gibson Thunderbird.

I was told it originally had Greco pickups, but I replaced them with Epiphone pickups.

The sound is now rich and powerful.
While Epiphone pickups are a standard choice for Thunderbird replacements, they’re powerful and deliver strong low-end response, so I think they’ll provide a great bass sound in an ensemble setting.

今回はハイC仕様にする為にナット交換です。

ハイC仕様とは通常の4弦に高音弦が付く仕様になりますので、通常の5弦ベースの様にLow-Bでなく高音弦のHigh-Cが付きます。

通常のナット溝だと弦幅が大きく異なり、開放弦の異音や弦高が狂うので交換が必要になります。

ナットを作り直し仕上げました。

Replacing the nut on a Momose-made MJ.

This time, I’m replacing the nut to convert it to a High-C configuration.

A High-C configuration adds a high-pitched string to the standard four-string setup, so instead of a Low-B like on a standard five-string bass, it features a High-C string.

Since the string width differs significantly from standard nut slots, this can cause buzzing on open strings and throw off the string action, making a replacement necessary.

I’ve remade and finished the nut.

ネック反り等を適切に整え弾き易く仕上げました。

音が良い個体な上に中古購入との事ですが殆ど新品状態です。

PUが他のSE製と違う？のか、音がクリアで抜けが良いのでかなり良い個体でした。

Here is the setup for a PRS SE CE24.

I’ve properly adjusted the neck curvature and other factors to make it comfortable to play.

Not only does it have great tone, but even though it was purchased used, it’s in almost brand-new condition.

Perhaps the pickups are different from other SE models? The sound is clear and projects well, so it’s a really great guitar.
