順反りして弦高が高い状態、電装パーツをEMG・プリアンプ搭載から元のパッシブ仕様に戻す内容です。

元のパーツはお客様の要望で流用する形となりました。
古い電装パーツなのでガリ等が発生しておりますが音を出すには問題無さそうです。

This is a rewiring and setup job for a 1970s Fender USA Jazz Bass.

The neck was bowing backward, causing high string action. The project involved reverting the electronics from the EMG pickups and preamp to the original passive configuration.

At the customer’s request, we reused the original parts.
Since the electronics are old, there is some crackling, but it doesn’t seem to affect the sound.

お客様持ち込みのポットでボリュームポット2箇所を交換しました。

オールウォルナットの珍しいモデルで、80年代の限定モデルとの事です。

ムーン製の様な構造をしているのでフェンダージャパン製には見えないです。

音質も良く弾き易いので、ムーン製もそうですが当時のオールウォルナットベースは非常に良かったです。

Pot replacement on a Fender Japan Jazz Bass.

Replaced both volume pots with customer-supplied parts.

A rare all-walnut model, reportedly a limited edition from the 80s.

Its construction resembles a Moon bass, so it doesn’t look like a typical Fender Japan piece.

It has great tone and plays well—like Moon basses, all-walnut basses from that era were truly excellent.

新品購入との事ですが順反りして弾き難い状態です。

楽器屋等で販売されている状態も基本的には弦高が高めなので弾き難いです。

そこから順反りするとまず弾く気分になれない弾き難さになるので基本は購入時に弦高を低めにしてもらった方が良いです。

調整する事で弾き易い状態に仕上げる事ができました。

Setup for a Fender Mexico Jazz Bass.

Although purchased new, it had developed a forward bow, making it difficult to play.

Instruments sold at music stores typically have higher string action, which can also make them hard to play.

If a forward bow develops on top of that, it becomes so uncomfortable to play that you won’t even feel like picking it up. Therefore, it’s generally best to request lower string action at the time of purchase.

Through adjustments, we were able to achieve a comfortable playing condition.

トラスロッドに余裕少ない・順反りで音詰まりしている状態です。

お客様ご自身でフレットレス化されておりますが、チェックしてみると良くできている様子で問題は無さそうです。

調整してみると音詰まりも無くなり弾き易い状態となりました。

音もフレットレスで柔らかく、使用も特に問題無しです。

This is a setup for a Fender Japan JV serial Jazz Bass.

The truss rod had limited adjustment room and was bowed forward, causing muffled tones.

The customer had converted it to fretless themselves. Upon inspection, the work appears well done and seems problem-free.

After adjustments, the muffled tones disappeared, resulting in a much more playable state.

The tone is now soft and fretless, with no particular issues in use.

順反りで音詰まりしている状態です。

全体の消耗でフレット状態が悪いですが、弾く分には問題無く調整はできましたがすり合わせをお勧めします。

フレットの消耗は音程感を悪くするので、特にベースだとモワモワとした成分が多くなり音の輪郭が悪くなる原因になります。

The neck is warped and the sound is muffled.

The frets are in poor condition due to overall wear and tear, but I was able to adjust it so that it can be played without any issues. However, I recommend having it adjusted.

Worn frets can affect the pitch, and especially with basses, this can cause a lot of muffled tones and make the sound less clear.

ペグがぶつけて壊れたとの事で、1個のみ交換する事となりました。

見た目が同じ様なペグがAmazonにあるMusiclilyで低価格で販売されておりますが、全く同じ物ではありません。
こちらはお客様の持ち込みです。

ビス穴の位置が合わず、ヘッドに付いたブッシュ内径も合わないので全交換するとそれなりの加工費になります。
壊れた1ヵ所のみを交換する事となりました。

ペグはGOTOH等で同じ様なペグが見つかると思いますが、こうした独自形状のペグは交換用が見つからず大変になります。
メーカーも独自パーツを付けるなら交換対応でメーカーが販売を行う等の対応をするか、市販品で同じ物が買えるパーツを付けていてほしいです。

This is a setup for a Bacchus jazz bass.

One of the pegs was broken due to impact, so we decided to replace only that one.

Musiclily on Amazon sells pegs that look similar at a low price, but they are not exactly the same.
This one was brought in by the customer.

The screw hole positions do not match, and the inner diameter of the bush attached to the head does not match either, so replacing all of them would incur a considerable amount of processing costs.
We decided to replace only the one that was broken.

While similar pegs may be available from manufacturers like GOTOH, pegs with unique shapes like this one are difficult to replace.
Manufacturers should either offer replacement parts through their own sales channels or use parts that can be purchased commercially.

大きく順反りして音詰まりが起きている状態です。
この状態では非常に弾き難く、しかも音まで詰まるのでまともに使用できません。
高額な楽器でも調整に難が起きればまともに使用できなくなります。

調整し弾き易い状態に仕上げる事ができました。

音が良いモデルで、かなり弾き込まれた感あるサウンドでした。

ネックのウネリで音がビビる状態です。
近年の木材は強度が弱い為、長く使用していると反り・ウネリが起こり易い印象で長持ちしないと思います。

また弦の張力バランスを考えたらダダリオの「バランスドテンション弦」の使用が近年の木材強度低下を考えると必須になってくるかもしれません。

また45-100等、細いゲージの使用も良くないと考えます。

例えば45-100弦、こちらは5弦パックですが張力が2弦と4弦で6ｋｇ程度も違いが出たりします。
1・2弦側と3・4弦側で音が違うと感じるのも、テンションピンが付いてるか付いてないか？の関係もありますが張力差が原因です。
特に4弦・5弦が緩く感じる人はベーシストに多いと思いますが気のせいではありません。実際に緩いです。

なので基本ベース弦は「細過ぎる」事を昔から発信しておりますが、張力バランスが悪い意味でもネックにウネリを与える結果にもなります。

バランスドテンション弦はこうした各弦の張力差を均一付近に調整した弦となり、これがウネリ等を与えない結果となるでしょう。

こちらのモデルもネックが柔らかいので1弦側と4弦側で反り具合が違う為、こうしたネックの柔らかさからくる反り状態も把握していないといけません。

個体により様々ですが「1弦側が順反りするか逆反りするか」、4弦側が「順反り傾向か逆反り傾向か？」と異なる事も多いです。

それに加えてトラスロッドの効き具合が1弦側と4弦側で異なってもきますので、こうした強度が弱いネックはリペアだけでなく調整の事も考えて直すとなれば難易度が上がります。

This is a fret leveling for a Fender Mexico Jazz Bass.

The neck is warped, causing the sound to buzz.
Wood used in recent years tends to be weak, so I think it is prone to warping and bending after prolonged use, and does not last long.

Also, considering the tension balance of the strings, it may be necessary to use D’Addario’s “Balanced Tension Strings” in light of the recent decline in wood strength.

Furthermore, using thinner gauges such as 45-100 is also not recommended.

For example, with 45-100 strings, this is a 5-string pack, but there is a difference of about 5 kg in tension between the 2nd and 4th strings.
Many bassists feel that the 4th and 5th strings are loose, but this is not just their imagination. They are actually loose.

Therefore, we have always said that bass strings are “too thin,” but poor tension balance also results in warping of the neck.

Balanced tension strings are designed to adjust the tension differences between each string to a uniform level, which should prevent warping.

This model also has a soft neck, so the curvature differs between the 1st and 4th strings. It’s important to understand the curvature caused by the neck’s softness.

This varies by individual instrument, but the 1st string side may have a forward bow or a reverse bow, and the 4th string side may have a forward bow tendency or a reverse bow tendency.

Additionally, the effectiveness of the truss rod may differ between the 1st string side and the 4th string side, so repairing such a weak neck not only requires repair but also adjustment, which increases the difficulty.

90年代製との事ですが大きく順反りし弦高が高い・音詰まりする状態です。

またトラスロッド限界状態ですが、弦高的には弾く分に問題無い状態です。

特にベースは張力が強いので、古い年代製はトラスロッドに余裕が無い事も普通で限界・限界状態で順反りしている事も当たり前に多いです。

ダンロップストラップピンが付いており、こちらをシャーラータイプに交換しました。

中古購入時はトラスロッドの余り量を確認して購入するのは当然として、詳細を聞いて楽器屋から知識力を試す事をお勧めします。

This is a setup and strap pin hole correction for a Fender USA Jazz Bass.

This bass was made in the 90’s and has a large forward bow, high string height and sound clogging.

The truss rod is at its limit, but there are no problems with the string height.

Since basses have high tension, it is common for older basses to have no room in the truss rod, and it is common for the truss rod to be warped at the limit or at its limit.

It has a Dunlop strap pin, which has been replaced with a shear type.

When purchasing a used one, I would recommend that you check the amount of truss rod left over and test the knowledge ability from the music shop by asking for details.

かなり大きい順反りで弦高が高く弾き難い状態です。
これではまともに弾く気になれないと思います。

1弦ラインの状態が悪く音詰まり箇所がある状態です。
新品でしたら返品案件ですが、中古購入だとこうした事も度々あるので購入時は念入りにチェックして状態が悪い物を買わない様な努力が必要です。

This is a Bacchus Woodline Jazz Bass setup.

It has a fairly large forward bow and the strings are high and hard to play.
I don’t think you can play it properly with this setup.

The first string line is in bad condition and there are some stuck notes.
If it were brand new, it would be a returnable item, but this is often the case with used instruments, so you need to check carefully and make an effort not to buy one that is in poor condition.
