細い弦を使用し、ギターと同じチューニングで仕上げる仕様です。

低価格モデルながら作りが良く、かなり高いコストパフォーマンスモデルです。

電装パーツを全て交換、トグルスイッチでギターの様な仕様になりました。

仕上げ後も低価格だが意外と作りが良く弾き易い事に驚いています。
3万円台のモデルだそうですがトラスロッドも2本入っていて、低価格にしてはかなりしっかりしたモデルでお勧めです。
今まで触った6弦ベースで一番安くて弾き易く音も良いです。

This is a nut replacement, rewiring, and setup for an Ibanez GSR186.

It’s set up to use thin strings and tune to the same pitch as a standard guitar.

Although it’s a budget model, it’s well-built and offers excellent value for the price.

I replaced all the electronic components, and with the toggle switch, it now functions just like a guitar.

Even after the finish, I’m surprised by how well-built and easy to play it is, considering the low price.
I hear it’s a model in the 30,000 yen range, but it comes with two truss rods. For the price, it’s a very solid model, and I highly recommend it.
It’s the cheapest, easiest-to-play, and best-sounding 6-string bass I’ve ever played.

太い弦を張りダウンチューニング用になってた物をナット交換しゲージ変更です。

ドロップC#にて52-10で仕上げました。

太い弦だと張力さえあれば多少ナットの弦溝がガバガバでも何とかなる事もありますが、2～3段ゲージを落とすなら交換した方が良いです。
また3弦が巻き弦だった場合は大きく太さが異なるので、そうした場合も交換して仕上げた方が良いです。

This is a nut replacement on an Ibanez Iron Label.

I replaced the nut and changed the gauge on a guitar that had been set up for down-tuning with thick strings.

I finished it with a 52-10 gauge setup for Drop C#.

With thicker strings, you can sometimes get by even if the nut slots are a bit loose as long as there’s enough tension, but if you’re dropping the gauge by two or three sizes, it’s better to replace the nut.
Also, if the third string is a wound string, the difference in thickness is significant, so in that case, it’s best to replace the nut and finish the setup.

倒してナットが割れたとの事で、新しく作り直しました。

ナット等は衝撃で割れたり、中古品で購入していると摩耗で低くなっている場合も多いので中古ギターのナットは交換しておきたい部分です。
他にもフレットも消耗具合によりすり合わせ等を行うと良いでしょう。

The owner told me the nut had cracked when the guitar was dropped, so I made a new one.

Nuts can crack from impact, and if you buy a used guitar, they’re often worn down, so it’s a good idea to replace the nut on a used guitar.
It’s also a good idea to have the frets dressed or leveled depending on their wear and tear.

今回はハイC仕様にする為にナット交換です。

ハイC仕様とは通常の4弦に高音弦が付く仕様になりますので、通常の5弦ベースの様にLow-Bでなく高音弦のHigh-Cが付きます。

通常のナット溝だと弦幅が大きく異なり、開放弦の異音や弦高が狂うので交換が必要になります。

ナットを作り直し仕上げました。

Replacing the nut on a Momose-made MJ.

This time, I’m replacing the nut to convert it to a High-C configuration.

A High-C configuration adds a high-pitched string to the standard four-string setup, so instead of a Low-B like on a standard five-string bass, it features a High-C string.

Since the string width differs significantly from standard nut slots, this can cause buzzing on open strings and throw off the string action, making a replacement necessary.

I’ve remade and finished the nut.

ナット高が低過ぎて音詰まり、ネックを真っすぐにできない状態です。

ナットを交換し、ネック反りをストレートに調整できる事で弾き易い状態に仕上げる事ができました。

ナットにトラブルがあるギターベースは、わざと順反りにして弦高を高くして誤魔化して売られている事が多いです。

ナットは弦高を決める要素もあるので正しい高さになっている事が重要です。
消耗品でもあるので摩耗で低くなっているなら交換する必要がありますが、近年はネット情報で素人作業する人が増えており失敗して手放す人も多いので要注意ポイントです。

This is a nut replacement on a Gibson Les Paul Gary Moore model.

The nut height was too low, causing muffled tones and preventing the neck from being straightened.

By replacing the nut and adjusting the neck to a straight profile, we were able to restore the instrument to a playable condition.

Guitars and basses with nut issues are often sold with the neck intentionally set to a positive bow to raise the string height and mask the problem.

Since the nut plays a key role in determining string height, it’s crucial that it’s set to the correct height.
As it’s a consumable part, replacement is necessary if it’s worn down, but be cautious—in recent years, more amateurs have been attempting repairs based on online information, and many end up giving up their instruments after failing.

80年代製の物で長年の消耗がある状態です。

ナットを交換しフレットをすり合わせ、正常な状態に仕上げました。

音が太く、存在感があるのでアンサンブルで抜けが良さそうな個体です。
当時のMOON製は評価が高い理由もよく分かりました。
Fender等を良い方向に改良したストラトと思います。

Nut replacement and fret leveling on a Moon-made PGM-era Stratocaster.

This is an 80s model showing significant wear from years of use.

We replaced the nut and leveled the frets, restoring it to proper condition.

It has a thick, present sound that should cut through well in an ensemble.
It’s easy to see why Moon-made guitars from that era are so highly regarded.
I consider it a Strat that improves upon models like Fender in positive ways.

メーカー不明ギターのフレット交換・ペグ交換・配線直しです。

状態が悪く音詰まり箇所があり、音も安定して出ません。

昔ジャンク品で購入したギターとの事ですがレリック塗装だけはかなり良い具合に仕上げてあります。
ここだけは業者にやってもらったのかもしれません。

ペグは素人作業がされて無理矢理付いており、穴を埋めて空け直された跡があるのですが穴空けもいい加減の様子でペグが正しく付いておりません。

ペグ穴も無理矢理広げられた箇所があったりと素人作業が目立ちます。

お客様と相談し作業費がなるべく掛からない様に新しいペグに交換する形となりました。
クルーソン仕様ですがこの様な状態なのでブッシュ穴がガバガバで付けれないので、穴をシャーラータイプの10ｍｍに広げGOTOH製のナット止めタイプに交換する内容にしました。

状態も素人作業のフレット交換がされています。フレット付近は割れたままフレットが打たれていたり、仕上げも雑な事から音詰まりが起きています。

フレットも簡単に抜けたりと、相当雑な作業がされています。
中古で購入する際、下手にフレット交換がされている物のチェックしてこうした状態は分かり易いです。
安く買えてもフレット交換で直す羽目になります。
指板の整形も非常に崩れており、あまりにも酷く指板が削られていると修正が困難になる場合があるので購入時は要注意ポイントです。

指板延長も行われている様子ですが雑です。延長した指板が剥がれたりしないか心配はあります。

やはり簡単に外れました。
内部に棒を入れて接着する様に加工してあり、簡単に外れました。
こちらは再接着で対処しました。

電装パーツはお客様持ち込みのGOTOH OLD-1に交換です。

ピックガードも前オーナーが自分でP-90ザグリを空けた？のかサイズがギリギリで、かなり強めにピックガードに引っ掛かるので高さ調整ができません。
付けれはしますが細かい高さ調整に対応ができないのでピックガードを交換するかザグリを空け直す必要が出てきます。

フロントはピッキングの反応が良く良好、リアは硬くなく標準的なサウンドで扱い易いです。

GOTOH製PUは低価格ながら音質が良いのでお勧めです。

フレット交換し問題無く使用できる状態になりました。

消耗が大きくナットが死にかけ、全体のフレット消耗が凄い状態です。

この状態だと基本的にまともに使用できる状態ではありません。
歪ませたりしていると誤魔化して鳴らせているのかもしれませんが、正しく音が鳴らない状態はチューニングが狂ったまま弾いている事と同じですので直して使用する事をお勧めします。

ナットを交換しフレットすり合わせを行う事で弾き易く問題が無い状態に仕上がりました。

Gibson Les Paul nut replacement and fret leveling.

The nut was severely worn and nearly dead, with significant overall fret wear.

In this condition, the guitar was essentially unusable.
While you might have been able to get some sound out of it by overdriving it, playing with incorrect intonation is equivalent to playing out of tune. We recommend repairing it for proper use.

100本限定モデルとの事で非常に珍しいケーラートレモロを搭載しPUもEMG搭載のフライングVとなっています。

ナットが割れており、交換する事となりました。

他にもジャックが消耗しており、新品に交換しました。

ケーラーだとサウンド面でも通常のチューンＯマチックと違い柔らかいサウンド傾向となり、よりマイルドなサウンドに酔っています。

Gibson Flying V nut replacement, jack replacement, and setup.

This is a very rare model with a Kala tremolo and EMG pickups, limited to 100 pieces.

The nut was cracked, so it was replaced.

The jack was also worn out, so it was replaced with a new one.

The Kala tremolo produces a softer sound than the standard Tun-O-Matic, giving it a more mellow tone.

ナット消耗で音詰まりしており、フレット浮きとネックウネリで音詰まりしています。

セレクターが消耗で音が出なかったりと、かなり消耗が大きい個体です。

ナットを交換しフレットをすり合わせ、セレクターを新品に交換し問題が無い状態に仕上げる事ができました。

消耗状態が大きいと直った後で見違える弾き易さに変化したと思います。
ファンドフレットですと恐らくメーカー側も製造する個体が少ない事から、元から作りの面で精度が悪いかもしれません。
なのでファンドフレット仕様は新品でも状態が良くない可能性がある事も考えておかないといけないかもしれません。
とは言っても新品で高額な楽器でも最初から状態が悪い事もあるので、基本は買ったらナット・フレットはリペアする考えでも大げさではありません。

This is a nut replacement, fret leveling, and selector replacement for an Ibanez Iron Label 8-string RG.

The nut was worn out, causing sound blockage, and the frets were floating and the neck was warped, also causing sound blockage.

The selector was worn out, causing sound issues, and the instrument was in pretty bad shape overall.

We replaced the nut, leveled the frets, and replaced the selector with a new one, bringing the instrument back to a problem-free condition.

With such severe wear, I believe the playability improved significantly after the repairs.
With fretboard frets, it is possible that the manufacturer produces fewer units, so the precision may be poor from the start.
Therefore, it is important to consider that even new instruments with fretboard frets may not be in good condition.
That said, even new, high-priced instruments may have issues from the start, so it is not unreasonable to consider repairing the nut and frets after purchase.
