モモセ製MJのナット交換です。

今回はハイC仕様にする為にナット交換です。

ハイC仕様とは通常の4弦に高音弦が付く仕様になりますので、通常の5弦ベースの様にLow-Bでなく高音弦のHigh-Cが付きます。

通常のナット溝だと弦幅が大きく異なり、開放弦の異音や弦高が狂うので交換が必要になります。

ナットを作り直し仕上げました。

Replacing the nut on a Momose-made MJ.

This time, I’m replacing the nut to convert it to a High-C configuration.

A High-C configuration adds a high-pitched string to the standard four-string setup, so instead of a Low-B like on a standard five-string bass, it features a High-C string.

Since the string width differs significantly from standard nut slots, this can cause buzzing on open strings and throw off the string action, making a replacement necessary.

I’ve remade and finished the nut.
