  • モツ製ウルトラライトMk3ハイブリッドの配線直しです。

    電源が入らない状態です。
    この個体は電源トラブルが非常に多いので、中古等は消耗により特に壊れ易い状態になっていると思います。

    内部をチェックしてみると電源部の基盤が繋がっていない（過去にも同じ事あり）状態でした。

    急に基盤が死ぬ？のも不思議なのですが実際に通電しなくなっているので事実です。
    配線を引き回し、通電不良個所を配線で繋げて無事に動作する様になりました。

    こちらもエフェクターと同じ扱いで作業の保証はございませんが内部を確認して直そうと対応する事は可能です。

    Repairing the wiring on a Motsu Ultra Light Mk3 Hybrid.

    It won’t power on.
    This particular unit has had numerous power issues, so I suspect used ones are especially prone to failure due to wear and tear.

    Checking inside revealed the power section’s circuit board wasn’t connected (this has happened before).

    It’s odd for a board to suddenly die, but it’s a fact that it stopped powering up.
    I rerouted the wiring, bridged the faulty connection points, and got it working properly again.

    Like with effects pedals, there’s no warranty on this work, but I can inspect the internals and attempt repairs.

  • ボス製MH-2のトラブルチェック・ガリ修正になります。

    ツマミのガリ、ボリュームはガリが酷く箇所により音が出なくなる状態です。

    中身をチェックしてみるとポットが特殊な物、背が低く基盤に付いているので現行品で交換不可でした。
    ポットを交換する場合は基盤を外し、ポットに配線を引き回す改造をしなくてはいけませんので高額になってしまいます。

    洗浄剤で対処し直しましたが再発する様であれば買い直しか上記の修理になります。

    普段は電池での使用との事ですが電池スナップも動かすと電源が途切れたりしますが、極端に指で動かさなければ大丈夫な状態です。
    古い年代製なだけに各所の消耗が目立ちます。
    またDCで電源が入らない状態、DCジャックが壊れていると思うがテスターチェックにてジャック部は通電はしており原因不明です。DCジャックも独自規格パーツにより交換不可です。

    現状は電池使用で問題無い事、修理の際は高額になってしまう（中古で買った方が明らか安い）ので古い年代製のエフェクターは壊れない様に大事に使用する事をお勧めします。

    Troubleshooting and scratchy sound correction for Boss MH-2.

    The knobs have scratchy sound, and the volume control is severely scratchy, causing sound loss in certain areas.

    Upon checking the internals, the potentiometers are specialized, low-profile types mounted directly to the circuit board, making replacement with current parts impossible.
    Replacing the potentiometers would require removing the circuit board and rewiring the connections to the potentiometers, resulting in a high cost.

    We reapplied cleaning solution, but if the issue recurs, either repurchase or the above repair will be necessary.

    It’s usually used with batteries, but moving the battery snap can cause power loss. However, it’s fine as long as you don’t move it excessively with your fingers.
    Being an older model, wear and tear is noticeable in various areas.
    Additionally, it won’t power on via DC. We suspect the DC jack is broken, but tester checks show the jack itself is conducting power, so the cause is unknown.

    Currently, battery operation is problem-free. Repair would be costly (clearly cheaper to buy used), so I recommend handling older effects pedals with care to prevent damage.

    アッシュダウン製AL-MK500のポット交換・清掃・メンテナンスです。

    ベースアンプになります。

    メインボリュームポットのガリが凄く、ガリが酷過ぎて音が出ない状態です。

    他にもアウトプットジャックの固定が悪く、ワッシャーが無くなっておりこれによって締めても固定ができずガタガタ暴れる状態になっています。
    ワッシャーを追加してしっかりと止まる様に直しました。

    手持ちのポットでボリュームポットを交換し、問題無く音が出せる状態に復元しました。

    アンプやエフェクターの修理は保証対象外になり、パーツも同じ物が入手できない事も多いので代用できる物で対応できる場合は対応したりします。

    こちらのベースアンプは初めて触りましたが癖が無く非常に良いサウンドです。
    これが定番にならなかったのは正直意味不明です。確実にハートキーやアンペグよりも扱い易く音が良いです。

    Pot replacement, cleaning, and maintenance for an Ashdown AL-MK500.

    This is a bass amplifier.

    The main volume pot had severe scratching noise, so bad that no sound could be produced.

    Additionally, the output jack was poorly secured; the washer was missing. This meant tightening it didn’t secure it properly, causing it to rattle and move around.
    I added a washer and fixed it so it stays securely in place.

    I replaced the volume pot with one I had on hand and restored it to a state where sound can be produced without issues.

    Repairs on amps and effects pedals are not covered under warranty. Since identical replacement parts are often unavailable, we sometimes use suitable substitutes when possible.

    This was my first time working on this bass amp, and it has a very clean, excellent sound without any harshness.
    Honestly, it’s baffling why this didn’t become a standard model. It’s definitely easier to handle and sounds better than Hartke or Ampeg.

    ベルデン19364ケーブルにフルテック製FI-8N＋ワットゲート電源プラグによる電源ケーブル製作です。

    電源ケーブルは最低限必要な要素として「アースが取れる」事と「シールド効果のあるケーブル」が最低限必要な要素です。
    これさえ満たせていれば基本はこの電源ケーブルで問題ありません。

    多くの付属電源ケーブルはシールド効果が無い物が多く、ノイズを拾い易いケーブルになります。

    内部を剥いてみれば分かりますが、アルミテープや銅箔テープで内部の配線を守っている様な効果がありノイズ混入を防ぎます。
    付属ケーブルにはこの仕様が無い場合が多いので、高価なケーブルを使用する必要はありませんがシールド効果を持ち安価なベルデン19364が無難で定番になっていると思います。

    音を良くする目的として部屋のアース工事またはアースへの接続が済んでいる事が条件です。
    冷蔵庫や洗濯機のコンセントにアース接続ができる箇所があったりするので、そこから配線を引き回して機器に繋げる等の工夫をしましょう。
    コンセントが3口でアース接続が可能になっていると、こうした電源ケーブルを接続するだけで機器がアース接続できる状態となります。

    電源ケーブル自体の製作も簡単で、剥いてビス止めするだけの構造になっています。
    動作させるだけならアース接続の部分さえミスしなければどの様に繋げてもＯＫとなります。

    一応は部屋のコンセントも配線ミス（ホット・コールドが逆等）もある為、使用する機器の壁コンセントも検電テスター等で極性を調べた上で電源ケーブルを製作した方が良いです。
    ただ2口コンセント機器はどの様に挿しても動作はするのですが、正確には極性が決まっている機器もあったりしますので極性が違うとノイズが増える等の支障が出たりします。
    こうした場合に詳しくは機器の極性も調べる必要があります。

    電源ケーブルは非常に高価な物が存在しますが、正直必要ありません。

    ベルデン19364を必要な長さに、マリンコ等のプラグで製作したケーブルで充分です。

    機器側に2口しか挿す事ができない場合、機器の金属部分・ケース部分等に端子を接続してアースを取る事も可能です。
    バイクや自動車で使用されるギボシで接続するのもお勧めです。
    機器からのアース接続は別口で取る形で接続すると良いでしょう。

    モガミ3368のプラグ交換です。

    L字からの変更になります。

    交換するプラグは私もお勧めしているフルテック製FP-703になります。

    L字プラグは音質面でストレートプラグに劣る気がしていて、基本的に使用上でL字が必要でないならストレートにする事をお勧めします。

    交換後は音のガサつき・モタりが無くなりスッキリと帯域がバランス良くなりました。

    プラグだけでも音は変わるのですが、ハンダ付け自体でも音が変わるので自分で配線する事はお勧めしません。
    音が出ても、それは音が良くはできていない状態である事が大半です。

    Replacing the Mogami 3368 plug.

    This is a change from an L-shaped plug.

    The replacement plug is the FURUTECH FP-703, which I also recommend.

    I feel L-shaped plugs are inferior to straight plugs in terms of sound quality, so I generally recommend using straight plugs unless an L-shape is absolutely necessary for your setup.

    After the replacement, the sound became cleaner with no more harshness or sluggishness, and the frequency balance improved significantly.

    While just changing the plug can affect the sound, soldering itself also alters the sound, so I don’t recommend doing the wiring yourself.
    Even if you get sound out of it, it’s often not sound that’s been properly optimized.

  • WEED BD-2 mod Blues Driver ポット交換

  • ウィード製BD-2modのポット交換です。

    以前よりあまり歪まなくなったとの事で、テスターチェックでポットの動作が変な様子なので交換してみたら直りました。

    またLEDが破損している様で点灯しない状態です。
    中古購入品や古いエフェクターは各所が壊れてきます。
    ギターと同じくポットやジャックは消耗し交換する必要が出てきます。

    エフェクターの修理作業は一切保証等が行えませんが、ギターと同じ様に交換ができるパーツ交換は対応可能です。
    エフェクターによっては付いているパーツが市販品に販売されておらず、別のパーツで流用する事になる場合もあるので注意が必要です。

    This is a pot replacement for a Weed BD-2mod.

    The tester check showed that the pot was acting strangely, so we replaced it and fixed the problem.

    Also, the LED seems to be damaged and does not light up.
    Used or old effectors are prone to breakage in various areas.

    古いモデルで現行品と異なるモデルです。

    お客様ご自身で配線を交換したとの事ですが、自信が無いのでやり直してほしいとの事で各所の手直しを行いました。

    ワウの可変が狭いモデルで、ナチュラル感があるとも言える効き方をするワウペダルでした。
    ワウはモデファイされていたり、年代やモデルによって音も大きく異なるので自分好みのペダルを見つける事が大変かもしれません。

    Repairing the wiring on a Jim Dunlop Cry Baby.

    This is an older model, different from the current version.

    The customer had replaced the wiring themselves but felt unsure about it, so we redid the work and made adjustments in various areas.

    This was a wah pedal with a narrower range of variation, producing a response that could be described as having a natural feel.
    Wah pedals often have modifications, and their sound can vary significantly depending on the era and model, so finding one that suits your personal preference can be quite challenging.

  • エンプレスエフェクト製ジーンドライブのフットスイッチ交換です。

    ON時に音が小さい状態です。
    チェックしてみるとフットスイッチの接触不良の様子です。

    新品のフットスイッチに交換する事で直りました。

    フットスイッチも消耗品で、何度も切り替えていれば壊れるパーツです。

    注目点として、こうした消耗品が交換し易い状態になってるか？がエフェクター購入で重要にしたいポイントです。
    エフェクターブランドも何故かこうしたいずれ交換する時が来るパーツを交換し難い構造で作っている物も多くあるので、そうした個体は修理に非常に高額な出費となります。

    エフェクターは購入前に裏パネルを開けて見させてもらう位はしてから購入する事をお勧めします。
    基盤に付いていて交換がやり難い・全てのパーツが基盤に付いてて、パーツのハンダ箇所全て外さないと基盤がケースから取れない等のパーツ1つへのアクセスが困難な内部構造の物は避けた方が良いです。
    こちらのモデルは特に問題無しです。

    Replacing the foot switch on an Empress Effect Gene Drive.

    The sound was too quiet when switched ON.
    Upon inspection, it appeared the foot switch had poor contact.

    Replacing it with a new foot switch fixed the issue.

    Foot switches are consumable parts; they break down with repeated switching.

    A key point to note is whether such consumable parts are designed for easy replacement. This is an important consideration when purchasing effects pedals.
    For some reason, many effects pedal brands design their products with parts that are difficult to replace when the time comes. Such units can become extremely expensive to repair.

    I recommend opening the back panel to inspect the internal components before purchasing any effects pedal.
    Avoid models with internal structures that make accessing a single part difficult, such as components soldered directly to the circuit board, or designs where the entire board is attached to the case and must be completely desoldered to remove it.
    This particular model has no such issues.

    ストライモン製ブリゲイディアのDCジャック交換です。

    DCジャックで接触が悪く電源が落ちる状態と、右チャンネルは音が出るがエフェクトが掛からない状態です。

    右チャンネルの不調はこちらでは原因が分からず、DCジャックは接触不良で交換する事となりました。
    左チャンネル（モノラル）で使用するので問題無いとの事ですがアンプ2台等に繋げたステレオ出力はできない状態です。

    エフェクターは専門外なので修理できる範囲は限られますが簡単な修理は基本対応可能です。

    Replacement of the DC jack on a Strymon Brigadier.

    The DC jack had poor contact causing power loss, and while the right channel produced sound, effects were not applying.

    We couldn’t determine the cause of the right channel issue here, so we replaced the DC jack due to the poor contact.
    The owner stated it’s fine for use as a left channel (mono), but stereo output to two amplifiers or similar setups is not possible.

    Effects pedals are outside our specialty, so repairs are limited, but we can generally handle simple fixes.

  • モガミ製3368のケーブル製作です。

    昔から私がお勧めしております楽器用で使用するなら3368で充分です。
    他のメーカーケーブルは高過ぎです。
    3368でバランスの良い帯域でサウンド面でも良好な上、ケーブルは消耗品でもあるので低価格で良いサウンドが出せるのは3368しか無いと言って良い位です。

    こちらのケーブルはお客様の失敗により直し含めの製作であり、お客様のパーツ持ち込みですがやり直しで製作した物となります。

    今回もこちらで良い勉強になりましたが失敗したパーツ（ハンダ熱を余計に与えている等）は音が悪くなります。
    またL字は音が良くありません。昔からストレートのみで製作していますがL字はワンランク音がダウンします。

    音が全体的に太め（モサっとしてる）為、良い音で鳴らすには良い素材のセレクトは当然としてハンダ付けのテクニックも必要になります。

    良いサウンドで鳴らすにはFP-703と正しいハンダ付けは必須です。

    This is Mogami 3368 cable fabrication.

    For musical instrument use, the 3368 has always been my top recommendation and is perfectly sufficient.
    Cables from other manufacturers are simply too expensive.
    The 3368 offers a well-balanced frequency response and excellent sound quality. Since cables are consumables, it’s fair to say the 3368 is virtually unmatched in delivering great sound at a low price.

    This particular cable was rebuilt due to customer error, including repairs. The customer provided the parts, and we rebuilt it from scratch.

    This was another good learning experience for us, but faulty parts (like those subjected to excessive soldering heat) degrade the sound.
    Also, L-shaped connectors sound worse. We’ve always used straight connectors exclusively because L-shapes drop the sound quality by a notch.

    The overall sound is on the thicker side (a bit muddy), so to achieve good sound, selecting quality materials is essential, and soldering technique is also crucial.
