Replacement of the DC jack on a Strymon Brigadier.
The DC jack had poor contact causing power loss, and while the right channel produced sound, effects were not applying.
We couldn’t determine the cause of the right channel issue here, so we replaced the DC jack due to the poor contact.
The owner stated it’s fine for use as a left channel (mono), but stereo output to two amplifiers or similar setups is not possible.
Effects pedals are outside our specialty, so repairs are limited, but we can generally handle simple fixes.
For musical instrument use, the 3368 has always been my top recommendation and is perfectly sufficient.
Cables from other manufacturers are simply too expensive.
The 3368 offers a well-balanced frequency response and excellent sound quality. Since cables are consumables, it’s fair to say the 3368 is virtually unmatched in delivering great sound at a low price.
This particular cable was rebuilt due to customer error, including repairs. The customer provided the parts, and we rebuilt it from scratch.
This was another good learning experience for us, but faulty parts (like those subjected to excessive soldering heat) degrade the sound.
Also, L-shaped connectors sound worse. We’ve always used straight connectors exclusively because L-shapes drop the sound quality by a notch.
The overall sound is on the thicker side (a bit muddy), so to achieve good sound, selecting quality materials is essential, and soldering technique is also crucial.

This is a DC jack replacement and battery snap replacement for a Jam Pedal Fuzz Flaze.
The DC jack has a buzz and the battery snap is damaged and will be replaced.
This model is a reproduction of an old vintage fuzz.
Similar models are available in the current market, but they have different designs and internal circuits.
This one looks like the Jimi Hendrix model, but there is also a regular version available.
We are requesting the production of three 5m cables and one 1m cable.
This cable is becoming a standard as the most cost-effective cable.
Cables in the world have become a business for the weak-minded, and it is a field with a business model where expensive cables that are not good at all are advertised by famous artists and media without hesitation, and people who do not know about them lose money by buying them.
Good sounding and strong cables are usually available in the low price range, and basic cables made by Mogami are sufficient in terms of performance.
Also, although FP-703 plugs are expensive parts, it is better to spend money in these areas.
Since many of the finished products on the market have cheap or ordinary plugs, it is better to make your own plugs or have them made for you, which will cost less than buying a finished product of the same length.
As the term “audio occultism” suggests, it is easy to be deceived by excessive advertising in the field of cables, so be careful.
The sound quality of the 3368 is good and well balanced, so it can be used for all kinds of music.
I think many people are looking forward to this terrific project.
As introduced on Youtube in the past, we have found that the sound improves when a modified outlet with the Kurumira effect is used, and we were able to connect with Mr. Ouchi, the developer, through the transmission of that video, which led to this experiment.
As an experimental project this time, we asked ourselves, “Can we make parts that improve the sound by processing Kurumira? This time, we experimented with guitar shield cable plugs, power cable plugs (with grounding), and earphone plugs (for audio applications) under the concept of “Can Kurumira processing be used to make parts that improve sound?
This time, we used Furutech’s FP-703 with Kurumira processing to see how it would affect the sound. The Kurumira process is used for plugs, cases, and earphone plugs (for audio applications).
Kurumira processing was applied to the plug, case, and all parts. Since the case and fixture are also Kurumilla-processed, the Kurumilla effect is added to the entire plug.
We tested the same length of Mogami 2497, which is used for all cables in our workshop, with different plugs.
One of the 2497 cables was used for a long time, but it is difficult to imagine any significant wear and tear on the 2497 cable when used indoors, so we do not believe that there is a significant difference in wear and tear.
As you can see in the Youtube movie, it is amazing that the sound quality can be changed so much only by the plugs.
In terms of sound quality, the sound has a beautifully balanced feeling as if a compressor is applied, and the chords are beautifully arranged, and the sound is easy to understand without any tininess.
However, in the case of a clean sound, it can be said that “a tinny and inaudible sound is like a musical instrument,” so there will be a difference in taste.
Especially, single notes have a texture similar to the grain of a vintage instrument.
When used in a distorted state, the effect of making the sound sound sound clean becomes especially large, and the sound is output without being crushed.
The Kurmilla effect strengthens the original signal, making it harder to distort the sound, but it also makes it easier to control the sound.
This will give you more options for effects, and you will be able to add more equipment more easily.
Although this experiment is not in a state where it can be said to be 100% good, if it can be changed so much with only two plugs, we can have high expectations for future experiments.
Although the effect is weak compared to the modified outlet, it is useful when you don’t want to change the sound too much.
In addition, because I think that the Kurumira effect is also weak with only two plugs, I think that the loss is prevented by relaying the parts to which the Kurumira effect is added on the way because the signal becomes dirty and collapses as usual if there are more devices to be connected.
I think that the number of plugs will also change the sound, so I think that plugs with the Kurumilla effect will be very effective in environments with many devices, digital devices such as multi-effectors, and deep distortion.
It is an analog delay, but it is a very effective model.
Basically, just like guitars, effectors need to be replaced because the pot jacks are consumables.
If the effects pedal is mounted on a board and the knobs are not moved, there is almost no wear and tear, but if the pedal is connected every time it is used, the jack will easily wear out just like a guitar.
The jack has been replaced and the sound is now stable.
This is a footswitch replacement for an MXR Phase 45.
The sound sometimes does not switch.
The footswitch is also a consumable item, so it is basically time to replace it.
By replacing the foot switch, it can now be turned on and off without any problems.
The battery part has an additional DC cable installed after the battery part, but the contact is poor and the power may drop out.
Please note that used products may have defects due to modifications made by the previous owner, including wear and tear.
This is a LED replacement for a monkey spring reverb.
The LEDs are too bright.
It is unclear what is influencing the recent trend of effect pedals, but it seems that people tend to prefer excessively bright LEDs.
The high luminosity LEDs are too bright.
Also, we would like to change the color from blue to red.
The power consumption of LEDs differs depending on the color, and it is necessary to check the data sheet for details, but blue often consumes more power than red.
