Epiphone Les Paul Custom EMG配線直し

エピフォン製レスポールカスタムの配線直しです。

お客様の方で接続ミスされている状態です。またブリッジアース線が短く切られ接続されていたりと不具合があります。

EMGはコネクタで簡単に接続できる様に思いそうですがセレクターの配線やアース線等の接続は手作業で行わないといけないので、いきなり初心者がやる作業としてはミスが起こり易いです。

コネクタも表と裏とでどちらでも挿せるのでミスが起こり易いです。
片方に突起がある等して付くようにしか付かない仕様にすればコネクタの接続ミスも起こりませんがメーカーが不親切です。

ミスの箇所を修正し問題無く音が出せる状態になりました。

This is a rewiring of an Epiphone Les Paul Custom.

The customer has made a connection error. Also, the bridge ground wire was cut short and connected.

It seems that EMG can be easily connected with connectors, but wiring of selector and connection of ground wire have to be done by hand, so it is easy to make mistakes for beginners.

However, it is easy to make a mistake as a beginner because the connectors can be inserted from either the front or the back.
If the connector has a protrusion on one side so that it can only be attached in the way that it is supposed to be attached, connector connection errors would not occur, but the manufacturer is not very kind.

I fixed the mistake and now I can play the sound without any problem.

エピフォン製レスポールカスタムのセットアップです。

ネック部のスカーフジョイントが割れて開いている状態で、弦を張ってて問題は無いが動くので心配な状態です。

調整のみで使用可能だった事とお客様の要望でそのままとなりました。
大きな衝撃を与える等をしなければ問題無いとは思います。

スカーフジョイントは長い年月で剥がれる事が多い為、基本的には良くありません。
元は木材を無駄にしない為の構造なのですが、木材は縦のラインは接着できないので形状から接着する面が弱いので長い年月を耐えきれない事と思います。

This is an Epiphone Les Paul Custom setup.

The scarf joint at the neck is cracked open, which is not a problem when the strings are stretched, but it is worrisome because it moves.

It was usable only with adjustment and the customer’s request to leave it as it is.
We do not think it will be a problem as long as it is not subjected to any major shocks.

Scarf joints are basically bad because they often peel off after a long time.
The original structure was designed to avoid wasting wood, but since wood cannot be glued in vertical lines, the surface to which it is glued is weak due to its shape, so I think it will not be able to withstand the long years.

Epiphone レスポール PU交換＆セットアップ Suhr Aldrech

エピフォン製フロイドローズ仕様レスポールのセットアップ・PU交換です。

スタッド部に木部割れが起きており傾いている状態で非常に酷い状態です。
恐らく元からこの状態だった様で、後付けでフロイドローズに改造した個体でもない様に見えますので作りの悪さからの不具合に思われます。

スタッドブッシュ部に殆ど材が残っていない事から弦を張った際に埋め込んだブッシュ側の材が割れてしまっております。
一応はアームを使わなければ何とか引っ掛かっている状態です。
これを修理するには材を埋めて仕上げ直す事から非常に高額な内容になります。
本来は返品レベルの状態です。

購入時は知識と細かいチェックが必須です。
理由は売ってる側が素人な事と、お店でも検品もろくにできておりません。
これが現実ですので、自分の身を守る為にも知識を付ける事と細かな確認をさせた上で買うのが重要になってきます。

PU持ち込みにてSuhrのアルドリッチに交換しました。

アルドリッチはクリーンから歪みまで万能的で、パッシブハムバッカーでもお勧めの一品です。

This is a setup and PU replacement for an Epiphone Floyd Rose spec Les Paul.

The wood is cracked at the studs, and the guitar is leaning.
It seems to have been in this condition from the beginning, and it does not seem to have been modified to Floyd Rose afterwards.

There is almost no wood left on the stud bushings, so the bushings that were embedded when the strings were stretched have cracked.
The arm is still in a state where it can be somehow hooked without using the arm.
To repair it would be very expensive, as the wood would have to be filled in and refinished.
The condition of the guitar is normally returnable.

We brought in the PU and replaced it with a Suhr Aldrich.

The Aldrich is versatile from clean to distortion and is a great choice for passive humbuckers.

エピフォン製レスポールカスタムのセットアップです。

ジャンク品で購入との事だが何も問題無かったです。
たまにこうした当たり個体が出てきますね。

順反りしており弾き難い状態を直しました。
特にパーツに不具合も無くトラスロッドに余裕が無い・限界状態でも無いので、ジャンク品として扱われている理由は分かりません。

音が良くビグズビー付きなのでお得感もあります。
ジャンク品も本当に状態はピンキリですが、分かる人が買えば得します。

Epiphone Les Paul Studio セットアップ

エピフォン製レスポールスタジオのセットアップです。

他店で状態が悪い様に言われたそうなのですが、特に異常はありませんでした。
正直、新品でもまともな調整状態で売っている事の方が少ないのが問題です。
そうした物しか販売側が触っていないとすれば正しい判断ができるとは思えません。

正直多くの楽器屋も素人が表に立っている事も多いので、いくつかのお店でチェックした上で判断してもらった方が良いです。
相手がまともかどうかの判断に分かり易いのは「弦は張りっぱなしで良いのか？」と聞いてみたら分かり易いと思います。
楽器状態を詳しくチェックせず張りっぱなしで良いとか言ったらそこに頼まないで下さい。
楽器を壊させて買い替えさせたり修理に行く機会を増やそうとして金儲けの事しか考えていない所です。

調整する事で弾き易い状態に仕上げる事ができました。

epiphone elite ES-335 セットアップ

エピフォンエリート製ES-335のセットアップです。

何故か弦高がかなり低い状態により音が詰まる状態です。

大体の楽器屋では弦高が高く弾き難い上に不具合箇所を見つけ難い状態になっている事が多いのですが、これはその逆パターンです。
恐らくまともにチェックせず渡したと思います。

調整する事でまともに弾ける状態になりました。

エピフォンは箱物が良いモデルが多いので、本家ギブソンでなくても良かったりするパターンがあります。
近年は精度も低くなってきておりますので購入時は細かく見る必要があるので要注意です。

This is a setup for an Epiphone Elite ES-335.

For some reason, the string height is quite low and the sound is stuck.

Most music stores have a high string height which makes it hard to play and hard to find any defects, but this is the opposite.
This is the opposite case.

After some adjustments, the instrument is now in a state where it can be played properly.

Epiphone has many models that are good in the box, so there is a pattern that it is good even if it is not the original Gibson.
The accuracy has been getting lower in recent years, so please be careful when you buy one, because you need to look at it closely.

Epiphone Les Paul Junior ネック折れリペア

エピフォン製レスポールジュニアのネック折れリペアです。

スカーフジョイントから折れている状態です。
昔はこうした折れや剥がれが多かったのですが、近年でも普通に起こりますのでトラブルが起き易い構造と思って間違い無いでしょう。

こうした部位は木材の小口面の関係で接着精度に影響が出る部分でもあるので、接着してみましたが特に問題無く直りました。

基本的に楽器は衝撃に対策されて製造されていませんので、倒したりぶつけたりしない様に気を付けましょう。

This is a broken neck repair for an Epiphone Les Paul Junior.

It is broken from the scarf joint.

Epiphone Jim James ES-335 セットアップ

エピフォン製ジムジェームスモデルES-335のセットアップです。

新品なのに初期状態で弦高がかなり高い状態です。かなり弾き難いです。
ただこうした状態でも平気で新品で並べてある事も多いので、それだけ販売側がずさんな環境だと分かるかと思います。

ちゃんと調整してみたら音詰まりする箇所があり、こうした不具合箇所を誤魔化す為に弦高を高くして売っている様にしか思えないです。
基本的に弦高が高い状態で試奏をさせてきたら状態を疑いましょう。

エピフォンの箱物は精度も高く音も良かったのですが、近年は低下している様子ですのでお気を付け下さい。

This is an Epiphone Jim James model ES-335 setup.

It is new but the string height is quite high in the initial condition. It is quite hard to play.
However, many new ES-335s are sold in this condition, so you can tell that the seller has a sloppy environment.

When I tried to adjust the strings properly, I found that there were some parts that were clogged up, and I can only think that they are sold with high string height in order to cover up these defective parts.
Basically, if you are asked to try a guitar with a high string height, you should be suspicious of its condition.

Epiphone boxed instruments used to have high precision and good sound, but this seems to be declining in recent years, so please be careful.

Epiphone レスポールナット交換＆フレットすり合わせ

エピフォン製レスポールのナット交換・フレットすり合わせです。

ナットが割れて使えない状態の為に交換と、フレット状態が悪くすり合わせが必要な状態です。

フレット状態が悪いだけでなくトラスロッドの余裕も殆ど無い状態です。

エピフォン製のエレキ物は結構個体差が大きく、新品でフレットに最初から音詰まりが発生している物から大きく順反りしてトラスロッドに余裕が無い物もあります。
エピフォン製だからではなく他のメーカーにも当然ありますがエピフォン製は特に多い印象です。
しかし箱物だけは別で、状態も良く音も良い個体が多いのでエピフォン製は購入するなら箱物がお勧めです。
同じメーカーが作っている様には思えないクオリティの差を感じます。

ナットを交換しフレットをすり合わせ問題無い状態に仕上げる事ができました。

エピフォンレスポールネック折れリペア

エピフォン製レスポールのネック折れリペアです。

倒して折れたとの事です。接着で直しました。

綺麗に割れていれば大体は接着で直ります。
あくまで状態を確認しないといけませんが下手に折れたネックは修理が非常に高額になる為に買い直しも検討していた方が良いです。
特に補強や塗装も含めると結構な額になります。

特に問題無く直りましたが元のフレット状態が悪く音詰まり箇所が多い個体です。
エピフォン製は新品でも音詰まりがある個体が多い為、エレキ物は気を付けた方が良いです。
箱物は何故か優秀なモデルが多い為、エピフォン製は箱物がお勧めです。
