  • オームスビー製ハイプマシンのナット溝高調整・セットアップです。

    トラスロッド限界状態なので特価との事で楽器屋で購入した個体です。

    ほんの若干だけはロッドは回るが限界状態でこれ以上状態を良くするのは難しい状態です。

    またナット溝が非常に高く、場所によっては埋めて切り直している？様子です。

    ハイポジション付近のフレットすり合わせ精度が悪く詰まり気味な音です。

    こちらは元がかなり高額なモデルなのですが、細かく見ると値段を考えたらクオリティは低めです。

    ナット溝を切って調整し弾き易くなり、音もタイトで抜けが良いサウンドです。

    元からベアナックルのラグナロクに交換されているが弦ピッチがあっていないので各弦で音量差があるのを調整で解決しました。

    フロントとリアのPUピッチが同じ物が付いており、これも違和感です。

    実際にオームスビーは他のモデルも過去に触ってますが、ノーマルPUでも7弦はフロントPUの弦ピッチがズレている様子です。

    ポールピースの高さ調整で整えるにも限度はあるので、メーカーは改善してほしいポイントです。

    Adjustment and setup of the nut groove height on an Ohmusby Hype Machine.

    This unit was purchased from a music store at a special price because the truss rod was at its limit.

    The rod turns only very slightly, but it’s at its limit, making it difficult to improve the condition further.

    Additionally, the nut grooves are extremely high, and in some places, it appears they were filled and recut?

    The fret leveling precision near the high positions is poor, resulting in a slightly muffled sound.

    While this was originally a fairly high-priced model, upon closer inspection, the quality feels somewhat low considering the price.

    After cutting and adjusting the nut grooves, it became easier to play, producing a tighter, more projecting sound.

    Originally swapped for a Bearknuckle Ragnarok, but the string pitch was off, causing volume differences between strings. This was resolved through adjustment.

    The front and rear pickups have the same pitch, which also feels off.

    I’ve actually handled other Ohmusby models in the past, and even with the stock pickups, the front pickup’s string pitch seems misaligned on the 7-string.

    Adjusting the pole piece height has its limits, so this is an area I hope the manufacturer will improve.

  • オームズビー製エリート2のペグ交換・配線直し・セットアップです。

    ペグをぶつけ壊れてしまったとの事でGOTOH製ロック式ペグに交換しました。

    お客様の要望でセレクターの位置変更をしました。
    本来ボリュームがある位置へセレクターを移動し、ボリュームをセレクターの位置へと変更です。追加でトーンを効かない状態にトーンカットも行いました。

    高額なモデルなのですが付いてるパーツが安物だったりと気になる箇所はいくつかありますが問題無く使用できる状態に復元しました。

    またスラント仕様PUの位置がおかしく、フロントPUは弦の真下にポールピースが綺麗に並んでない事から1弦の音が小さかったり（ポールピース高で対処）といい加減な点も見られます。
    値段を考えたら電装パーツは有名所の部品が付いていたり、スラント仕様も綺麗な弦位置に来る様な精度をしていてほしいです。

    This is a peg replacement, rewiring, and setup for an Ohmzby Elite 2.

    The pegs were damaged, so we replaced them with GOTOH lock-type pegs.

    At the customer’s request, we also adjusted the position of the selector switch.
    We moved the selector switch to the original volume control position and relocated the volume control to the selector switch position. Additionally, we performed a tone cut to eliminate tone functionality.

    Although this is a high-end model, there were a few concerning issues such as low-quality parts, but we have restored it to a fully functional state.

    Additionally, the slant-style pickup position was off, and the front pickup’s pole pieces were not aligned properly under the strings, causing the first string to sound weaker (addressed by adjusting the pole piece height). There were also some careless details.
    Considering the price, I would have liked to see more reputable brand components for the electronics and better precision in the slant-style pickup positioning to ensure proper string alignment.

    オームスビーの低価格帯？でしょうか、新品にしては各所が甘く弾き難い状態です。

    付いてる電装は安物だったので低価格帯の位置付けモデルだと思いますが珍しいメーカーとモデルだけに詳しい情報は不明です。
    ジャックに不具合との事で新品に交換しました。

    ナット高が雑で高さがバラバラで弾き難い状態です。
    低価格帯はどうしてもナット・フレット等の難しく手間が掛かるポイントの仕上げが良くありません。
    ここを買ったら直すは基本中の基本です。
    新品で購入時はナット溝切り調整とフレットすり合わせを行いましょう。
    それだけで非常に良くなります。基本はメーカーの製造精度はそこまで高くありません。

    Ormsby Elite 2 nut groove adjustment, jack replacement and setup.

    This is an Ormsby Elite 2. It is hard to play because of the sweetness of the parts for a new model.

    The electrics on it were cheap, so I think it is a low-priced model, but I don’t have detailed information about it because it is a rare make and model.
    The jack was replaced with a new one due to a problem with the jack.

    The nut height is not correct, and it is hard to play.
    The low-priced models are not well finished at difficult and time-consuming points such as the nut and frets.
    It is a basic rule of thumb to fix this if you buy a new one.
    When you buy a new one, adjust the nut groove cut and fret fret adjustment.
    This alone will improve the quality of the instrument. The basic rule is that the manufacturer’s manufacturing accuracy is not that high.
