バッカス製ジャズベースのPU交換・セットアップです。

PUをデイマジオ製エリアJに交換です。

音がクリアで柔らかく、元から付いているスイッチポットによるハムバッカー時も音が太過ぎず良いサウンドです。

ディマジオは優秀なPUが多く世界で一番売れているPUメーカーだそうですが、日本ではそうした認知が真逆になる事が多いです。
日本ではセイモアダンカンの方が売れている様な気がしますが、日本は洗脳社会なので良い物が売れていない＆売れない環境です。

ディマジオはギターでも優秀なPUが多いですがベースでも例外ではありません。
PU選びに迷っていて低価格を求めるのであればディマジオは選択肢として効率的です。

navigator ジャズベースセットアップ

ナビゲーター製ジャズベースのセットアップです。

リアPUが壊れているのか音が細い→テスターで抵抗値は問題無く出るがトーンを絞れば音がかなり小さくなるので壊れている様子です。
PUはいきなり突然死したりもするので消耗品です。
強い衝撃で磁力が落ちたり、ロウ漬けが理由か高い温度で内部の蝋が溶けて再度固まる等でコイルが切れる等が予想されます。

トラスロッドが限界近い状態です。
古い年代製は基本状態が悪い物として考えないと長持ちされる事が難しくなります。

ヴィンテージ楽器も基本は状態が悪いので、ヴィンテージとは言わない年代でも数十年も経てば基本は状態が悪くなる事が多いです。

可能な限り購入時に状態が良い物を買い、弾かない時は弦を緩めて湿度を安定させた環境で保管する努力が必要です。

This is a setup for a Navigator jazz bass.

Rear PU is broken or sound is thin -> Resistance value comes out fine with a tester, but if you turn down the tone, the sound gets much quieter, so it looks broken.
PU can suddenly and unexpectedly die, so it is a consumable item.
The coil may be broken due to a strong shock, loss of magnetism, or the wax inside the coil melting and hardening again due to high temperature.

The truss rod is near its limit.
Older instruments should be considered as being in poor condition, otherwise it will be difficult to keep them for a long time.

Vintage instruments are also basically in bad condition, so even if they are not considered vintage, they are usually in bad condition after a few decades.

Whenever possible, buy one in good condition at the time of purchase, and make an effort to loosen the strings when not playing and store it in an environment with stable humidity.

セイモアダンカン製ジャズベースのセットアップです。

大きく順反りし弾き難い状態です。

ベースは張力が強い為、弦を張りっぱなしにしていると順反り状態になり易いです。

またトラスロッドの効きが悪く、調整してみるとトラスロッド限界状態となりました。

特に演奏する上で問題はありませんが、ロッド限界状態ですと将来的に長持ちするかどうか？の問題になってきますので普段から弦を緩めて保管しましょう。

バッカスジャズベースのナット溝切り調整・セットアップです。

ナット高が高く弾き難い状態です。

ナット高が高いとどうしても弾き難くなる事や、低価格帯から高価格帯でもあまり丁寧に仕上げてある事が少ない部分です。
ここが良くなる事でも全体の弾き易さから音も良く変化します。

調整してみた所、音が良いモデルです。

低価格帯だからダメだと思わず、基本的な所をしっかりと仕上げるだけでも見違える様に良くなります。
この辺りの意識が無いと「安物＝ダメな物」から脱却できません。
意外と近年は低価格帯モデルも良く出来ているので、料金的に仕上げられない所を直すだけでも数十万円レベルと同様な物に変化する物あるので中々侮れません。

フリーダム製ジャズベースのセットアップです。

順反りして弾き難い状態です。

あまり使用されていない様子で大きな消耗も無く状態は良さそうなので調整する事で弾き易く仕上げました。

順反り具合もベースの様にネックが長くなると弾き易さにかなり大きな影響を与える為、高額な楽器だからと言っても順反りで台無しになる事も多いです。

精度が良い物程、ネックを真っ直ぐにして問題ありません。

よくある「若干の順反り」は大体は大きい順反りです。ハガキ1枚と表現されますが結構順反り状態となります。

「弦の振幅振動の事を考えて順反りさせる事が良い事」の様にされている事もありますが、理屈は確かにそうなるのですがこの理論に間違いがあるのは「全員が同じ弾き方をする訳ではない」事があります。
簡単な所からだと「弾く力が強い人・弱い人」は弦の振動具合が大きく異なります。
結構として弦の振幅振動を考えた順反りが弾く人によっては「無駄になる・弦高が上がりただ弾き難いだけ」となります。
弾く力が弱い人は弦の振動振幅範囲も狭くなるので、結果的に順反り具合が過剰になってきます。
結果として弾く強さ・ビビりの許容範囲で反り具合は全て異なります。

音のビビり具合も個人によって許容範囲が違い、弦高の好みも大きく異なるので「マニュアル通りの調整方法が正しい」場合になる事は殆どありません。
やはり理解力があり人それぞれに許容範囲が大きいリペアマンでないと正しい調整には辿り着く事はできないでしょう。

正しい調整は簡単な正論で「使用する人に合わす」事です。
そうした事に考慮しない、一方的な理屈や理論がネット情報に多く出回っておりますが正しくは自分が良いと感じる状態に仕上げてもらう事が大事です。

This is a Freedom jazz bass setup.

It is hard to play due to the forward warp.

It has not been used much, so there is no major wear, and it looks to be in good condition, so we made some adjustments to make it easier to play.

The warp condition also has a significant impact on the playability of a long neck like a bass, so even if it is an expensive instrument, it is often ruined by warp.

The more accurate the instrument is, the straighter the neck will be and there will be no problem.

The common “slight warp” is usually a large warp. It is often described as a postcard, but it is quite warped.

Some people think that it is a good thing to warp the strings in order to take into account the amplitude vibration of the strings, and while this is true in theory, there is a mistake in this theory: not everyone plays in the same way.
The simple fact is that the strings vibrate very differently for those who are strong and those who are weak.
For some players, the forward warp, which is based on the amplitude vibration of the strings, is useless, and the height of the strings increases, making it difficult to play.
For those who play weakly, the range of string vibration amplitude will be narrower, and as a result, the degree of forward warping will be excessive.
As a result, the degree of warping all depends on the strength of the player and the tolerance for vibrations.

The tolerance range for the amount of vibrato is also different for each individual, and the preference for string height is also very different, so it is rarely the case that “the manual adjustment method is correct.
It is impossible to arrive at the correct adjustment unless the repairman has a good understanding and a large tolerance range for each person.

The correct adjustment is a simple and straightforward argument: “to suit the person who uses it.
There are many one-sided theories and theories on the Internet that do not take this into consideration, but the right thing to do is to have it done in a way that feels good to you.

Fender Mexico ジャズベースプリアンプ交換＆セットアップ ESP CINNAMON

フェンダーメキシコ製ジャズベースのプリアンプ交換・セットアップです。

新品で購入したばかりとの事ですが配線状態が雑、ノイズ処理の塗料の塗り方が酷いです。
現行品は見えない所がここまでテキトーになっている事に驚きました。
この辺りは確実に音質に悪影響を及ぼしているので、新品でも購入時は直しておきたいポイントです。

完成後にザグリ内にパーツが入らない事が分かった？のか、ザグリを掘り足した様になっていますがその後でノイズ対策の塗料を塗っていない状態で組まれています。

ESPシナモンに交換しました。
音が自然でナチュラル系プリアンプです。

ガッツリとEQが掛かるプリアンプは良くも悪くもエフェクターを通している様なサウンド傾向になります。
楽器本体というよりは既に作られた音で鳴っている様な印象になるので、スタート地点にナチュラル系プリアンプを組むと楽器っぽさを損ねません。

そしてプリアンプ交換についての注意点としてポットの穴数を確認しましょう。
こちらのモデルは2軸ポットで3BandEQとなっており合計4穴＋ミニスイッチとなっていますが、シナモンのポットはバランサーポットを2個使用（トレブル・ベース）しています。

つまりはシナモンの場合だとトレブルベースを2軸ポットにまとめられません。この辺りの知識が必要です。
トレブルの1段はパッシブトーンの様子なので削れそうですがベースがバランサーで動くので2軸ポット等の通常のポットでは対応できません。

そうした意味でもポット穴の数に対して交換するプリアンプのポットが使えるか？は事前に確認が必要です。
お客様と相談しボリュームを無くしてPUバランサー・トレブル・ミドル・ベース・パッシブ/アクティブ切り替えの配線となりました。

大きく順反りしており弾き難い状態を直し、弾き易い状態になりました。

This is a pre-amp replacement and setup for a Fender Mexican Jazz bass.

It is new but the wiring condition is messy and the noise treatment paint is terrible.
I was surprised to see that the current product is so textured in areas that are not visible.
This area is definitely having a negative impact on sound quality, so this is a point that I would like to fix when purchasing a new product.

After completion, did you find that the parts could not fit inside the counterbore? It looks like the counterbores were dug out after completion, but they were not painted with anti-noise paint afterwards.

I replaced it with an ESP Cinnamon.
It is a natural sounding preamp.

Preamps that are heavily EQ’d tend to sound like an effects pedal, for better or worse.
It gives the impression that the sound is already made rather than the instrument itself, so a natural preamp at the starting point will not detract from the instrument’s character.

As a note on replacing the preamp, check the number of pot holes.
This model has a 3-band EQ with 2-axis pots, so it has a total of 4 holes plus a mini-switch, but the Cinnamon pots use 2 balancer pots (treble and bass).

In other words, in the case of cinnamon, the treble base cannot be put together in a 2-axis pot. Knowledge in this area is needed.
The first stage of the treble seems to be passive tone, so it can be shaved off, but the bass moves with a balancer, so normal pots such as 2-axis pots cannot be used.

In this sense, it is necessary to check in advance whether the pots of the preamplifier to be replaced can be used in relation to the number of pot holes. In this sense, it is necessary to confirm in advance whether the pots of the preamplifier to be replaced can be used for the number of pot holes.
After consulting with the customer, we decided to eliminate the volume and use a PU balancer, treble, middle, bass, and passive/active switching wiring.

The guitar is now easy to play, and the large forward warp, which makes it difficult to play, has been corrected.

moon ジャズベースセットアップ＆コンデンサ交換＆ジャック交換

ムーン製ジャズベースのコンデンサ交換・ジャック交換・セットアップです。

ジャックが緩み断線して音が出ない状態です。
消耗もあるので新品に交換と持ち込みのコンデンサへ交換しました。

コンデンサの交換後のトーンの具合はレンジは狭いがバキバキせずコモり過ぎないサウンドで必要な範囲に絞っている様な効き具合になります。

フェンダージャパン製ジャズベースのセットアップです。

お客様の方で弦を間違って張っており、それが原因で音詰まりが発生しています。

ロングスケールのベースにミディアムゲージ弦等の短い弦を間違えて張っております。
この場合は弦が太い所がナットを超えないのでナット高が非常に低くなり音詰まりします。

通常のロングスケール弦を張って調整したら問題無しでした。

また大きく順反りしている状態を直して弾き易くしました。

正直な所、弦メーカーも表記が分かり難くスケールの表記は分かり易いパッケージにしてほしいと思います。
間違って買うにはベース弦は値段が高いので、大きな表記で誰が見ても分かる様な表記が必要に思います。

This is a setup for a Fender Japan jazz bass.

The customer has been putting on the wrong strings, which is causing the sound clogging.

When I put normal long scale strings on it and adjusted it, there was no problem.

To be honest, I wish that the string manufacturers would make the scale notation easier to understand in their packaging, as it is difficult to understand.
Bass strings are too expensive to buy by mistake, so I think they need to be marked in a large font so that anyone can see them.

フェンダーUSA製ジャズベースのセットアップです。

大きく順反りしハイポジションに音詰まりが起きている状態です。

順反りは限度を超えると弦高が高く弾き難くなる他にハイポジションで音が詰まってきます。
この辺りはトラスロッドの調整でネックを真っ直ぐにする事で直す事ができますが、トラスロッドの余りが無い場合は対処不能となります。

調整したら見違える程に弾き易くなりました。

電送系がバルトリーニPUとXTCTの組み合わせに変更されており音も良いです。

バルトリーニの様に世間ではマイナーなPUは非常に良く、これが標準で搭載されていない事も業界の闇を感じます。
簡単に音が良くなっては困るのか、気が付いた人は得をするPUです。

The bass has a large forward bow and is clogged in the high position.

After the adjustment, it became easier to play than before.

The electric transmission system has been changed to a combination of Bartolini PU and XTCT, and the sound is good.

I feel the darkness of the industry that a minor PU like Bartolini is very good and this is not installed as standard.
I don’t know if it should be easy to improve the sound, but those who notice it will benefit from this PU.

FenderJAPAN ジャズベース配線直し

フェンダージャパン製ジャズベースの配線直しです。

古い電装パーツを新品へ全交換しました。

中古品で消耗してある電装パーツは交換して使用する事をお勧めします。

劣化は単純に音が悪くなりますので、古い物は交換した方が良いでしょう。

交換後は音が明らかに太くなりました。

劣化してくるとパワーに係わる低音が削れていくので、消耗すればする程に音が細くなっていきます。

微々たる変化ですので気が付かないかもしれませんが、古い物から新品へ交換するとかなり大きな変化に感じますので、知らない人は変化に驚くと思います。
