シェクター製E-1アポカリプスのPU交換・ブリッジブッシュ浮き修正・セットアップです。

フロントをディマジオDP158に交換しました。

PUの取り付けビスは木部にブッシュが打ち込まれ、通常の直付け用ではなくエスカッションビスが使用されているモデルです。
内部にブッシュが打ち込まれているのですがPU自体にもビスが噛むので高さ調整に難が起こります。
ただこの場合だと直付けでもPU本体の穴を広げる必要が無くなるので他のギターに流用ができる状態で取付できます。

ノイズが大きいとの事ですがチェックしてみると弦アース不良が起きている様で通電反応がありません。

内部をチェックしてみるとブッシュ底面に配線が挟まる様になっており、ブッシュ浮きで通電不良になっている様子です。
大体はブッシュ穴の途中から配線穴が出て、ブッシュを打ち込むと完全に配線を挟み込む様な状態になるので通電不良は殆ど起きないのですが今回の状態としては配線がブッシュ穴の底面に空いており、ブッシュ底面が配線を押し潰す様にして付いています。

簡易的ですがブッシュを打ち直してみたら奥に入り、チェックしてみると弦アースが通電する様になりました。

ブッシュが浮くのも元の穴が緩い場合があるので、メーカー精度によっては一度穴を埋めて空け直す必要が出てきます。
ストップテールピースが抜けてくるパターンは珍しいですが、近年の製造クオリティを考えたら無くは無いと思うのでアース不良が起きた際はブッシュ浮きを疑いましょう。

フロントは音がクリアで抜けが良くブーミー気味にならないサウンドになりました。

Sector E-1 Apocalypse pickup replacement, bridge bushing float correction, and setup.

The front pickup was replaced with a DiMarzio DP158.

This model uses escutcheon screws for pickup mounting, as bushings are embedded into the wood instead of using standard direct-mount screws.
Although bushings are embedded internally, the screws also engage the pickup itself, making height adjustment difficult.
However, in this case, direct mounting eliminates the need to enlarge the pickup’s mounting holes, allowing it to be installed in a condition suitable for reuse on other guitars.

There’s significant noise, but upon checking, it appears there’s a faulty string ground connection causing no electrical response.

Checking inside, the wiring seems to be pinched against the bottom of the bushing, likely causing the poor electrical contact due to the bushing being loose.
Typically, the wiring hole extends partway through the bushing hole, and when the bushing is hammered in, it fully encloses the wiring, preventing electrical contact issues. However, in this case, the wiring hole was positioned at the bottom of the bushing hole, and the bushing bottom was pressing down on and crushing the wiring.

As a simple fix, I re-hammered the bushing, driving it deeper. Upon checking, the string ground now conducts electricity.

Bushings can float if the original hole is too loose, so depending on the manufacturer’s precision, it might be necessary to fill the hole and re-drill it.
While it’s rare for the stop tailpiece to come loose, considering recent manufacturing quality, it’s not impossible. So, if you experience a grounding issue, suspect a floating bushing.

The front now has a clear, well-defined sound with good projection and avoids sounding boomy.
