トーンランド製テレキャスターのPU交換・セットアップです。

交換するPUはグリニングドッグ製60年代モデルセットです。

フロントはモッサリ系、リアは枯れた明るい系で昔のテレキャスターらしさが出るサウンドです。

当然ながらこの仕様という事は音量バランスが悪いという事です。
昔のテレキャスターはフロントの音が小さいです。本当はこの難点だけは再現してほしくない点ですけどね。

フロントとリアで音量バランスが悪いのでセンターで良い音がするバランスを取るのが難しいPUでもあります。
近年のテレキャスターはフロントの音量がリアと釣り合う様な物が多いので、これに慣れていると単純に古い年代は扱い難いです。

フロントはアコースティック感があり柔らかく自然な良いサウンド、リアは下げ目の方が痛い所が出なくてフロントとバランスが取れて使いやすいがセンターの音は上げ目の方が良いサウンドです。

テレキャスターはこうした仕様もあり全てのポジションで良い音が出るのは難しいと思いますが、この辺りは企業努力で改善できそうな気もします。
むしろリアのパワーを下げてフロントに合わせた方が良いと思うので、メーカーもこの辺りに力を入れてほしい所です。

This is a PU replacement and setup for a Tornland Telecaster.

The PUs to be replaced are a set of 60’s model made by Grinning Dog.

The front is a mossy sound, and the rear is a dead bright sound, which is typical of the old Telecaster.

Of course, this specification means that the volume balance is not good.
Old Telecaster has a low front sound. I really don’t want this problem to be reproduced.

It is difficult to get a good sound in the center because the volume balance between front and rear is not good.
Most of the recent Telecasters have the front volume balanced with the rear volume, so if you are used to this type of PU, it is simply difficult to handle the older models.

The front has a nice acoustic sound, soft and natural, and the rear is easier to use when it is lowered to balance with the front, but the center sound is better when it is raised.

It is difficult to get a good sound in all positions for the Telecaster due to these specifications, but I think this area could be improved through corporate efforts.
I would rather lower the rear power and match it to the front, so I would like to see manufacturers put more effort into this area.
