Gibson USA Firebird Non-Reverse Japan Limited 2015 PU交換＆セットアップ Mojotone Johnny Winter Firebird Pickup

ギブソン製ファイヤーバードのPU交換・セットアップです。

交換するPUはMojotone製のローゲインＰＵ、ジョニーウィンターモデルです。
音が柔らかく硬いギラギラがしないPUなのでファイヤーバードの交換用PUとして良いサウンド傾向です。

純正PUが音が硬い様に思うので、その痛い所が無くなるので使い易く一般的なギターとしても扱い易くなります。

ただし5・6弦の音が小さく各弦の音量バランスが悪い為、この辺りが良かったら完璧なPUでした。
ポールピースが調整できるモデルが出てほしい所です。

This is a PU replacement and setup for a Gibson Firebird.

The PU to be replaced is a Mojotone low gain PU, Johnny Winter model.
The sound is soft and not hard and glaring, so it has a good sound tendency as a replacement PU for the Firebird.

The stock PU has a hard sound, so it is easy to use as a general guitar because it eliminates that painful part of the sound.

However, the sound of the 5th and 6th strings is low and the volume of each string is unbalanced, so if this area were better, it would be a perfect PU.
I would like to see a model with an adjustable pole piece.

SQUIER Affinity Series Stratocaster Maple Olympic White スクワイヤーストラトキャスター PU交換＆セットアップ GOTOH ツインレイル

スクワイヤー製ストラトキャスターのPU交換・セットアップです。

PUはリアをGOTOH製ツインレイルに交換です。

こちらのPUはかなり昔に自分のギターにも付けていた事があり、シングルPUをそのまま出力を上げた様なサウンドでストラトキャスターらしさを大きく変える事が無くリアを少し出力アップさせたい際に便利なPUです。

特に多い事としてストラトのリアは「パワーが大きいPUに交換してしまう」人が多いので、リアは良くなったけどフロントとセンターとのバランスが悪いストラトになりがちです。
これを避ける為に今より少しだけパワーがあるPUに交換する事がコツなのですが、その丁度良いPUが少ないです。
低価格ながらツインレイルは非常に良いパワー感なのでリアPU交換に最適なモデルです。

This is a PU replacement and setup for a Squier Stratocaster.

The rear PU was replaced with a GOTOH twin rail.

This PU is useful when you want to increase the output of the rear without changing the Stratocaster’s sound.

This is especially common when people replace the rear of the Strat with a more powerful PU, which tends to result in a Strat with a better rear, but an unbalanced front and center.
To avoid this, the trick is to replace the PU with one that has a little more power than the current one, but there are few PUs that are just right for this purpose.
The Twin Rails have a very good power feel at a low price, so this is a great model for replacing the rear PU.

EDWARDS HORIZON 配線直し GOTOH HB-Distortion

エドワーズ製ホライズンのPU交換・セットアップです。

スイッチポットに交換しコイルタップ機能を増設した上でPU交換です。

GOTOH製HB-Distortionを2つ付けた仕様になります。

以前にもYoutube動画でHB-Distortionが非常に良かった動画を上げていますが、低価格ながら歪みでは非常に良いPUとなります。

HB-Distortionはコイルタップよりもパラレルの方が良いサウンド傾向になりますが、コイルタップは元の出力が高いと良いサウンド傾向になる事が多いので使ってみての好みです。

This is a PU replacement and setup for an Edwards Horizon.

The PU has been replaced with a switch pot and the coil tap function has been added.

Two GOTOH HB-Distortion were added.

The HB-Distortion is a very good distortion PU at a low price.

The HB-Distortion sounds better in parallel than in coil-tapped mode, but coil-tapping tends to sound better when the original output is higher, so it’s up to you to try it.

Kramer Pacer Vintage PU交換＆セットアップ SH-4 GOTOH HB-Distortion Suhr Aldrich

クレイマー製パーカーヴィンテージのPU交換・セットアップです。

Youtubeでも動画を出した内容になります。

セイモアダンカン製SH-4　→　Gotoh製HB-Distortion　→　Suhr製Aldrich　と交換した動画を上げていますので確認下さい。

詳細は動画でチェック頂く事と、最終的にはSuhrのAldrichとなりましたがこちらは昔から私もお勧めしているモデルです。

音がタイトでハッキリしているのでリアPUとして扱い易いと思います。
SuhrのPUはよくできていて、用途さえしっかり自分に合わせれば良いPUが多いのでお勧めです。

Gotoh製HB-Distortionも低価格ながら歪みは非常に良かったりもするので、音は値段ではないと分かるモデルですね。

This is a PU replacement and setup for a Kramer Parker Vintage.

Please check out the video of the replacement of Seymour Duncan SH-4 → Gotoh HB-Distortion → Suhr Aldrich.

The final result is the Suhr Aldrich, which I have been recommending for a long time.

The sound is tight and clear, so it is easy to handle as a rear PU.
Suhr’s PUs are well made, and I recommend them because there are many good PUs as long as they are well suited to your needs.

The Gotoh HB-Distortion also has a very good distortion at a low price, so this model shows that sound is not a matter of price.

FenderMEXICO テレキャスターカスタム PU交換＆セットアップ SEYMOUR DUNCAN STL-1 Vintage ’54 Tele Bridge

フェンダーメキシコ製テレキャスターカスタムのPU交換・セットアップです。

リアをセイモアダンカンSTE-1に交換しました。
音が煌びやかで細いサウンドはいわゆるテレキャスターのリアって音がするPUです。

調整でトラスロッドが限界状態となりました。
ご希望で弦高低めに調整しました。

This is a PU replacement and setup for a Fender Mexico Telecaster Custom.

I replaced the rear with a Seymour Duncan STE-1.
This PU has a shimmering and thin sound, which is what you would expect from a Telecaster rear.

The truss rod was at the limit for adjustment.
We adjusted the string height to low by your request.

Gibson エクスプローラー PU交換＆セットアップ SEYMOUR DUNCAN SH-4

ギブソン製エクスプローラーのPU交換・セットアップです。

リアをセイモアダンカン製SH-4に交換しました。

定番のリアPUとなりますが歪ませた時の音が好む人が多い様で昔からの売れ筋商品の様子です。
SH-4も販売がかなり古いので、そうした意味では歴史が古いPUとなるので現代のPUの方がより粒が細かく綺麗に歪みますがこの荒さが良いのかもしれません。

This is a Gibson Explorer PU replacement and setup.

The rear PU has been replaced with a Seymour Duncan SH-4.

This is a standard rear PU, but many people seem to like the sound when distorted, and it has been a hot seller for a long time.
The SH-4 has been on the market for quite a long time, so in this sense, it is an old PU, and modern PUs distort more finely and beautifully, but this roughness may be good.

Killer KB-Impulss PJ ’15 PU交換＆セットアップ Seymour Duncan SJB-3

キラー製インパルスのPU交換・セットアップです。

セイモアダンカン製SJB-3に交換ですがリアPUザグリがタイト過ぎて狭く、PUケースが上手く入らない状態です。
メーカーにより見た目を気にしてかザグリが物凄くタイトなモデルがありますが、こうした物は入らないパーツが出てくるので要注意です。

パワーががるので音が大きくレンジが広いサウンドです。

This is a PU replacement and setup for a Killer Impulse.

The rear PU counterbore is too tight and narrow, and the PU case does not fit well.
Some makers have a very tight counterbore for appearance, but be careful because some parts may not fit in such a case.

The sound is loud and has a wide range because of the high power.

schecter C-1 apocalypse PU交換＆セットアップ Bare Knuckle Aftermath

シェクター製アポカリプスのPU交換・セットアップです。

元から付いてるPUが大音量だとハウリングが酷いとの事で交換しました。
ベアナックル製アフターマスに交換です。

低価格帯モデルでもＰＵはロウ漬け処理等は普通に行われている物と思われますが、ハウリングする場合は基本的にＰＵ本体に問題があるので交換する必要があります。
一応は後からロウ漬け処理も行えるのですが値段と加工後に音が変わるのでコストパフォーマンスが悪いです。

アフターマスも音が煌びやかで音の形が見え易く歪んでくれるのでメタル系には合うＰＵと思います。

This is a PU replacement and setup for a Schecter Apocalypse.

The original PU had a bad feedback at high volume, so we replaced it with a Bare Knuckle Aftermath.
We replaced it with a Bare Knuckle Aftermath.

Even low-priced models are usually treated with soldering, but if the PU is howling, it is basically a problem with the PU itself, so it is necessary to replace it.
It is possible to do the brazing treatment afterwards, but it is not cost-effective because of the price and the sound change after the treatment.

I think this PU is suitable for metal type instruments because the after-mass sound is shimmering and distorted easily and the shape of the sound is visible.

メーカー不明レスポール PU交換＆セットアップ Gibson “Dirty Fingers”

メーカー不明の何かしら国産モデルをモデファイした様なレスポールのPU交換・セットアップです。
ロゴが無いのでメーカー不明です。

PUを持ち込みのギブソン製ダーティフィンガーに交換です。
古い年代のパワーがあるモデルですね。

音がタイトで荒い歪みなサウンドになりました。
ダーティフィンガーは70年代に登場したとの事ですが歴史が古い事から音も現代のハイパワー系PUとは音のニュアンスが異なります。
こうしたモデルを弾いてみると現代に行くにつれ歪みが細かく綺麗に聞こえてきます。
そうした意味ではダーティフィンガーは近年には出せない歪みサウンドが出せます。

This is a PU replacement/setup for a Les Paul that looks like a modification of some domestic model from an unknown maker.
The maker is unknown because there is no logo.

The PU is replaced with a Gibson Dirty Finger.
This model has a lot of power in the old age.

The sound is now tight and rough distorted.
Dirty Finger was introduced in the 70’s. Because of its old history, the sound is different from modern high-power PUs.
When you play these models, you can hear the distortion more finely and beautifully as you go up to the modern era.
In this sense, Dirty Finger can produce a distortion sound that cannot be produced in recent years.

YAMAHA Pacifica USA フレットすり合わせ＆フレットサイド処理＆PU交換 DP159 DiMarzio EVOLUTION

ヤマハUSA製パシフィカのフレットすり合わせ・フレットサイド処理・PU交換です。

大きく順反りし調整でトラスロッドが限界状態です。

過去に他店でフレットすり合わせをした事があるそうだが仕上げが雑でフレットを丸めていない台形状態です。
ただ上面をすり合わせて終わった様な状態です。
酷い仕上げで平気で渡してくる所も多いので気を付けましょう。

フロント・リアPUをディマジオ製エボリューションに交換しました。

フレットをすり合わせサイド処理も行う事で以前と全然違う弾き心地と弾き易さに変わりました。

良いリペアショップか確認する方法として簡単な質問に「弦を緩めるかどうか？」を訪ねてみると良いです。
詳しくは「個体による、トラスロッドの余り量を確認して個体に合わせる」が正確な答えですが知識の無いリペアショップは「弦は張りっぱなしで良い」と答えます。
そうしたお店に頼んではいけません。知識が無いので良い仕事はできない所でしょう。

This is a Yamaha USA Pacifica with fret grind, fret side treatment, and PU replacement.

The truss rod is at the limit of its capacity due to the large forward bow and adjustment.

The fret board has been fretted at another store in the past, but the fret board has not been rounded and is in trapezoidal shape.
It looks as if they just finished rubbing the top surface.
There are many places that will give you a badly finished guitar without a care in the world, so be careful.

Front and rear PUs have been replaced with DiMaggio Evolution.

The frets have been grated and the side treatment has been done to make the guitar feel completely different and easier to play than before.

A simple question to ask a good repair store is, “Do you loosen the strings?” You can also ask a simple question, “Do you loosen strings?
The exact answer is “It depends on the individual instrument, check the amount of truss rod left and adjust it to the individual instrument”.
Do not ask such a store to do the work. They are not knowledgeable and will not be able to do a good job.
