順反りで弦高が高い状態です。

どのギターも共通している事ですが弾き難い＝順反りしている事が大半です。

サドルだけで調整するとかなりアンバランスな状態になり、弾き難い上に音詰まりが起こる様な状態になります。

調整し弾き易い状態に仕上げました。

音が良い個体です。SGは元々癖ある音がする事が多いので、ノーマル時は扱い難いと思うのでPUの高さ調整・PUのポールピース高調整でかなり印象が良くなると思います。

This is a setup for a Gibson SG.

It had a forward bow and high string action.

This is common with most guitars: if it’s hard to play, it’s usually because it’s bowed forward.

Adjusting only the saddles creates a very unbalanced state, making it hard to play and prone to muffled notes.

I adjusted it to make it playable.

This is a great-sounding specimen. SG guitars often have a distinctive, quirky tone out of the box, so I think the standard setup can be tricky to handle. Adjusting the pickup height and the pole piece height significantly improves the overall impression.

メルカリで購入したとのですが、チェックしてみると新品で買って殆ど弾かれずに放置されたもの？かの様な状態でしたので良い状態の物を購入できたと思います。

特にメルカリで購入した際の状態の悪さは異常なので、素人から購入するのは危険なのでお勧めできません。
かと言っても楽器屋のレベルも近年は低いので、状態が悪い物を平気で問題無いと売ってる事も多いのでどちらも同じとも言えるかもしれません。

調整する事で弾き易い状態に仕上げる事ができました。

This is a setup for a Gibson SG.

I bought it on Mercari, but upon checking, it seemed like it was bought new and barely played before being stored away? So I think I got a good condition item.

The poor condition of items bought on Mercari is often unusually bad, so I wouldn’t recommend buying from amateurs.
That said, music stores’ standards have also dropped in recent years, and they often sell instruments in bad condition without batting an eye, claiming they’re fine. So, you could say both are equally risky.

After some adjustments, I got it into a playable condition.

ギブソン製SGのフレットすり合わせです。

お客様からの話で他店リペアショップで仕上げてもらったとの事ですが状態が悪く、その際にフレット交換されたとの事ですが指板の仕上がりが悪い様子でお客様も弾いてて違和感を感じている状態です。

全体的に指板の仕上げが悪く、トラスロッドの効きも変なのでストレート精度が悪いです。
これにより弦高を低くできず、ネック全体の弦高が均等でない弦高に感じます。

トラスロッドが内部で引っ掛かりが悪い？のか効き具合が変わるので正直危険な個体でもあります。
特にこうした個体は珍しい訳でもなく、トラスロッドを効かせて調整した状態が数日後には変わってしまう個体があったりするので要注意です。
こうした個体の原因は過去のYoutubeやブログで発信してますのでお調べ勉強下さい。

また修理する人が間違った知識の信者的（弦は張りっぱなしで良いとかネック反りは順反りが良いとか決め付けてる人）だと、仕上がりに難が起こったりします。

こちらの個体も直してもらった所で「若干の順反り（そのお店では正しいとして）」を意識して指板の削り具合が仕上がっている様な説明を受けたそうですが、結果的にお客様の好みに合っておらずにネック反りをストレート気味にしていくと弦高の均等感が悪くなる等と不具合を起こしてしまいます。

不思議と多くのリペアショップがいい加減で自己中的（使う人の事を考えないでエゴを押し付ける）なので、そこにちゃんと寄り添えるリペアショップでないと自分が思う良い状態で仕上げてこない可能性は高いです。

フレット交換したばかりと勿体無いですがフレットすり合わせでネックのラインを修正し、お客様の好みである弦高とネック反りになる様にフレットラインを削り修正しました。

世の中お客様に寄り添えるリペアショップが増える事を願います。
金儲けを考えるならこの業界は効率が全く無いと言って良い程に儲からないので、稼ぐ事しか考えてないそうした人達はこの業界から去ってほしいです。
ここは金持ちになれる土俵ではなく、ここじゃなく他で頑張った方がお金になります。
本当に好きでやってる人達の場なのでそうした意思が無いなら退場を願いたい所です。

Gibson SG fret leveling.

According to the customer, another repair shop finished the work, but the condition was poor. They replaced the frets at that time, but the fingerboard finish appears subpar, and the customer feels discomfort while playing.

Overall, the fingerboard finish is poor, and the truss rod adjustment feels off, resulting in poor straightness.
This prevents lowering the string height, and the entire neck feels uneven in height.

The truss rod seems to catch internally? Its response changes, making this honestly a dangerous instrument.
Such instruments aren’t rare; some adjust well with truss rod changes only to shift again days later, so caution is needed.
I’ve covered the causes of these issues in past YouTube videos and blog posts—please research and study them.

Furthermore, if the repair technician is a believer in incorrect knowledge (like assuming strings should always stay strung or that a positive neck bow is always best), it can lead to problems with the finished result.

Regarding this particular instrument, the repair shop explained that they finished the fingerboard with a slight forward bow (considered correct there), but the result didn’t match the customer’s preference. When the neck bow was adjusted to be straighter, it caused issues like uneven string height.

Strangely, many repair shops are careless and self-centered (imposing their ego without considering the user), so unless you find a repair shop that truly listens to you, there’s a high chance they won’t finish it in the condition you envision as good.

Although it was a shame since the frets had just been replaced, we adjusted the neck line through fret leveling and reshaped the fret line to achieve the customer’s preferred string height and neck curvature.

I sincerely hope more repair shops emerge that genuinely prioritize their customers.
If you’re only thinking about making money, this industry is practically impossible to profit from efficiently. I wish those solely focused on earning would leave this field.

ギブソン製SGのフレットすり合わせです。

フレットが全体的に錆びている状態です。
またフレットサイドが元から全体的にかなり広範囲に斜め落ちしており、1弦はそのライン近いので弦落ちがし易いかもしれません。
ギブソンのクオリティはピンキリで、高額でも非常に状態が悪い仕上がりになっている事もありますので購入時は要注意です。　
またブリッジが交換されている？のか弦高が指板Rと大きく違い、また各弦でバラつきも大きいです。
指板から仕上がりが良くない個体でした。

フレットをすり合わせ錆を取り、状態を良くして仕上げました。
フレットサイドの極端な斜め落ちしている所をリセットする所まで削るとフレットが無くなってしまうので削れる限度はありましたが元の状態よりはトラブル無く弾けるレベルになったと思います。

This is a Gibson SG fret leveling.

The frets are rusted overall.
In addition, the sides of the frets are slanted over a wide area, and the 1st string is close to that line, so it may be prone to string drop.
Gibson’s quality varies greatly, and even high-priced models can be in very poor condition, so be careful when purchasing.　
Additionally, the bridge appears to have been replaced, resulting in a significant difference in string height compared to the fingerboard radius, and there is also significant variation between the strings.
This was an individual with poor overall finish quality.

We performed fret leveling to remove rust and improve the condition.
While we could not completely reset the extreme diagonal slope of the fret sides without risking the frets disappearing entirely, we believe the guitar is now playable without issues compared to its original state.

ギブソン製SGのセットアップ・ピックガード取付です。

持ち込みのピックガードに交換しました。

大きく順反りして弾き難い状態、またトラスロッドの効きが悪くフレット状態も新品の割に良くないです。
ギブソンの低価格帯モデルもどんどん値段相応な状態になってきていますね。

PUは490が付いているモデル、音は明るめでタイトなサウンドです。

ギブソン製SGのセットアップです。

順反りして弾き難い状態、ややハイ起き気味の状態です。

音詰まりする箇所はあるがまだ何とか使用できるレベルです。

トラスロッドの余り量も多く状態としては良好ですが各所の状態があまり良くないのですり合わせ等で対処した方が良い状態です。

ナット高が消耗で詰まる寸前まで消耗していたりと、いずればフレットもすり合わせ・ナット交換された方が良い状態です。

It is in a forward warped, hard to play condition, and a little high up.

There are some parts where the sound is clogged, but it is still usable.

ギブソン製SGの配線チェックです。

ロボットギターと呼ばれるオートチューナーが付いたモデルです。

音が小さくなるとの事で持ち込まれました。

配線は問題無さそうですが各所にガリがあるので洗浄剤で対処しました。
各所チェックしてみるとギター本体に問題は無く、使用しているシールドケーブルに問題がありそうです。

ペグがバッテリー式により、消耗しているのかそこまで電池が持たない様子です。
電池が切れたら手で回せば良いと思いがちですが回しても動きが遅く、引っ掛かりがある様なので手作業で巻けないペグがあります。

壊れたら普通のペグに交換されている事が理解できました。
便利に見えてかなり不都合なペグに思います。

This is a wiring check of a Gibson SG.

It is a model with auto tuner called “Robot Guitar”.

It was brought in because the sound was getting quieter.

The wiring seems to be OK, but there are some scuffs in various places, so we used a cleaning agent to fix them.
The guitar itself is fine, but the shielded cable used seems to be the problem.

The pegs are battery operated and the batteries do not seem to last that long.
I tend to think that I can turn the pegs by hand when the battery runs out, but they move slowly when turned, and there are pegs that cannot be wound by hand because they seem to have a snag.

I understood that when they break, they are replaced with ordinary pegs.
I think the pegs look convenient but are quite inconvenient.
