  • スクワイヤー製サイクロンのセットアップです。

    大きく順反りし弦高が高い状態でかなり弾き難いです。

    トラスロッドを調整し、ネック反りを直して弾き易い状態に仕上げる事ができました。

    フロントはクリーン、リアはパワーがあり歪み系とかなり極端なキャラクターが分かれたPUポジションです。
    意外とリアはかなり歪むので見た目程のクリーンはフロントでしか出せないと思います。

    This is the setup for a Squier Cyclone.

    It had significant forward bow and high string action, making it quite difficult to play.

    By adjusting the truss rod and correcting the neck bow, I was able to achieve a playable state.

    The pickup positions offer quite distinct characters: the front pickup is clean, while the rear pickup is powerful and suited for distortion.
    Surprisingly, the rear pickup distorts quite heavily, so I think the front pickup is the only one that can produce the clean tone you’d expect from its appearance.

    かなり大きく順反りで弦高が高く音も詰まる状態です。

    またフレット減りが全体的に大きい状態です。

    ネック反りを直し弾き易く調整しました。

    状態が悪くなる位まで弾き込んであるので音が良いモデルです。

    次回はフレットすり合わせをお勧めします。

    Setup for a Gibson ES-335.

    It had significant forward bowing, high string action, and a muffled sound.

    Additionally, the frets showed substantial overall wear.

    We corrected the neck bow and adjusted it for easier playability.

    This is a model with great tone, having been played extensively until it reached this condition.

  • ギブソンカスタムショップ製ES-355の配線直し・セットアップです。

    以前にお客様が持ち込んだパーツの300ｋΩ・500ｋΩＢカーブの組み合わせが使っててあまり良くなかったとの事で、全て通常の500ｋΩＡカーブに交換しました。

    当店でも基本Aカーブしか使用していないのですが、Bカーブが良いと感じる人は少ないと思います。

    交換後は効き方も自然で音もレンジが広いサウンドになりました。

    サウンドはポットのKΩでも音質が変化します。ポットだけで自分好みに調整も可能ですがハムバッカーの500KΩも基本になっている理由が改めて分かる結果になりました。

    カスタムバッカーのスッキリ感が歪みが綺麗で聴こえ易いサウンドにも変化し、クリーンでも歪みでも扱い易くなりました。

    Wiring rework and setup for a Gibson Custom Shop ES-355.

    The customer previously brought in parts with a combination of 300kΩ and 500kΩ B-curve potentiometers, which they found unsatisfactory during use. We replaced all of them with standard 500kΩ A-curve potentiometers.

    We primarily use A-curve potentiometers at our shop as well, and we believe few people find B-curve to be preferable.

    After the replacement, the response feels natural and the sound has a wider range.

    The sound quality changes even with the KΩ value of the pots. While you can adjust to your preference using just the pots, this result reaffirmed why the 500KΩ is the standard for humbuckers.

    The Custom Buckers now have a cleaner, more transparent feel with beautiful distortion that’s easy to hear. They’ve become easier to handle, whether clean or distorted.

  • G＆L製ASATのセットアップです。

    順反りし弦高が高い状態で弾き難いです。

    調整してみるとトラスロッドがあまり効かなず、トラスロッドを多く回す事で調整しました。

    個体によってはトラスロッドの余り量が多くても、効きが悪いと意味がありませんので要注意です。
    結局は効きが悪い分で多く回す事によりすぐに余裕が無くなります。

    音の芯が強くタイトな音で抜けが良い個体です。

    Setup for a G&L ASAT.

    It was difficult to play with a reverse bow and high string action.

    Upon adjustment, the truss rod proved ineffective, so I compensated by turning it significantly.

    Note that even if an individual guitar has ample truss rod travel, it’s useless if it doesn’t work well.
    Ultimately, compensating for poor response by turning it excessively quickly exhausts the available travel.

    This particular guitar has a strong, tight core to its sound with excellent projection.

  • サゴ製オーダーベースのセットアップ・ジャック交換です。

    ジャックが接触不良で音出ない状態、お客様の要望で汚れた状態でしたので預かりにて簡易的な全体清掃です。

    後から18V改造されている様子で内部では電池が固定されていない状態、他にもポットにガリ・プリアンプの両面テープ剥がれで固定が甘い状態です。
    中古品は素人改造されている事が多いので、トラブルが起こる可能性がある事が多いので基本は電装パーツは手直しする事が基本になります。

    指板痩せでフレットが飛び出ている状態で、各所にちゃんと使い続けたければ修正したい所がいくつかあるので次回等に直す事をお勧めします。

    Sago-made custom bass setup and jack replacement.

    The jack had poor contact and wasn’t producing sound. As the customer requested, it was dirty, so we performed a simple overall cleaning while it was in our care.

    It appears to have been modified to 18V later, with the battery not secured internally. Additionally, the potentiometers have loose connections and the preamp’s double-sided tape is peeling, causing poor fixation.
    Since used items often involve amateur modifications, there’s a higher risk of issues arising. Therefore, it’s standard practice to rework the electrical components.

    The fingerboard has thinned, causing the frets to protrude. There are several areas that need correction if you wish to continue using it properly. We recommend addressing these issues during a future service.

  • グヤトーン製LG-23の配線直し・セットアップです。

    ウエスタンエレクトリック配線材で内部配線が組まれており、音が硬く冷ややかな音を直したいとの事です。

    楽器業界はヴィンテージ商法でボロ儲けしている業界なので、そこまで良い物じゃない物を良い物として高額で売っているので要注意です。

    また明白な出したい音の着地点が決まっていない事から相談の上、フラットな音が出るエーモン配線材に交換する事となりました。

    安物の配線ですが音が良い材なのでお勧めです。

    フロントは太くカリカリしない、センターも音が太くなり、リアはギラギラ感が減り扱い易くなりました。

    お客様も音の変化を気に入って頂き何よりです。
    意外とその辺にあるパーツが音が良かったりするので、業界のマーケティングだけで金儲けしている人の情報を信じない様にしましょう。

    This is a rewiring and setup for a Guyatone LG-23.

    The internal wiring uses Western Electric wiring materials, and the request is to fix the harsh, cold sound.

    The musical instrument industry often makes huge profits through vintage marketing tactics, selling items that aren’t actually that great at inflated prices, so be cautious.

    Furthermore, since the desired sound destination wasn’t clearly defined, after consultation, we decided to replace the wiring with Aemon wiring material, which produces a flat sound.

    It’s inexpensive wiring, but it’s a good-sounding material, so I recommend it.

    The front speakers gained richness without harshness, the center speaker became fuller, and the rear speakers lost their harshness, making them much easier to handle.

    The customer was very pleased with the sound changes, which is the best outcome.
    Surprisingly, parts you find just lying around can sometimes sound great, so don’t blindly trust information from people in the industry who are just marketing to make money.

    ヴァンザンド製ストラトキャスターのPU交換・セットアップです。

    ルジールPUのオーダーPUをリアPUに交換です。

    ポールピースが調整できる仕様ですが製造上ピッチが狭い物しか作れないそうで、リアに付けると弦下にポールピース位置が来ません。

    ストラトのリアを太くした様な音で、通常のギラギラとした細いリアと比べ太さがあり音抜けがあって非常に良いと思います。
    モッサリ感があってマイルドなリアになるので耳に痛い音にならず使い易くなったと思います。

    Vanzand Stratocaster pickup replacement and setup.

    Replacing the rear pickup with a custom-order Rujir pickup.

    Although the pole pieces are adjustable, apparently only narrow-pitch ones can be manufactured. When installed in the rear position, the pole piece position doesn’t align under the strings.

    It produces a sound reminiscent of a thickened Strat rear pickup. Compared to the typical bright, thin rear sound, this has more body and projection, which I think is excellent.
    It creates a mild, slightly muffled rear tone, avoiding harshness and making it much easier to use.

  • バッカス製ウッドラインの配線直し・セットアップです。

    メルカリで購入との事ですが音が出ない状態です。

    内部がアギュラーOBP-2に交換されているが素人作業です。

    内部でショート箇所、電池切れしている状態です。
    ショート箇所を直し、電池を交換すると無事に音が出る状態になりました。

    大きく順反りで弾き難い状態を調整で直し弾き易くなりました。

    音が良くEQも強烈に掛かるのでアギュラープリアンプは改造の際にお勧めです。

    メルカリはかなり素人出品も多いので、説明文と異なる事も非常に多いので注意が必要です。

    This is a rewiring and setup for a Bacchus Woodline bass.

    It was purchased on Mercari but wasn’t producing any sound.

    The internal preamp had been replaced with an Aguilar OBP-2, but it was an amateur job.

    There was an internal short circuit and the battery was dead.
    After fixing the short circuit and replacing the battery, it now produces sound properly.

    The significant reverse bowing made it difficult to play, but adjustments fixed this and it’s now much easier to play.

    The Aguilar preamp is highly recommended for modifications due to its excellent sound and strong EQ response.

    Mercari has many amateur sellers, so items often differ significantly from their descriptions. Caution is advised.

  • アイバニーズ製EHBのPU配線変更です。

    PUの配線をパラレルに変更です。

    シリーズ配線だとパワーが強いが高域の潰れが大きく、中低域が強く音の形が悪い結果になります。
    出る音を聞いてもパワーはあるが音が硬く馴染みが悪そうな音です。

    パラレルに配線を変更すると全体のバランスが良く、音も柔らかくなりました。

    PUが4芯の場合はシングル・パラレル・シリーズと音を変える事が可能です。
    音が気に入らない場合は変更してみる事をお勧めします。

    Modifying the pickup wiring on an Ibanez EHB.

    Changing the pickup wiring to parallel.

    Series wiring delivers strong power but causes significant high-frequency roll-off, resulting in overly emphasized mid-low frequencies and poor tonal balance.
    Listening to the output reveals power but a harsh, unnatural sound that lacks warmth.

    Changing to parallel wiring improves overall balance and produces a softer, more natural tone.

    With a 4-conductor pickup, you can switch between single-coil, parallel, and series modes to alter the sound.
    If you dislike the sound, I recommend trying this modification.
