ビゼン製レスポールのポット交換・ジャック交換・セットアップです。

リアボリューム・ジャックにガリで新品に交換しました。

ジャックは消耗するパーツNo.1ですので定番の修理ですが、ポットやセレクターは多様する程に消耗するのでガリが出たタイミングで交換がベストです。

実際に新品パーツに交換すると音質も良くなるので、消耗＝音も悪くなっています。

消耗の劣化は接点洗浄剤で直しても無駄なので、電装パーツは消耗品と割り切って交換しながら使用していきましょう。

Potentiometer replacement, jack replacement, and setup for a Bizen-made Les Paul.

Replaced the rear volume and jack with new ones due to crackling.

The jack is the number one wear part, so this is a standard repair. However, potentiometers and selectors wear out with use, so replacing them when crackling occurs is best.

Replacing them with new parts actually improves the sound quality, proving that wear equals sound degradation.

Attempting to fix deterioration with contact cleaner is futile. Accept that electrical components are consumables and replace them as needed while using the guitar.

Thorn Tree ストラトキャスターフレット部分すり合わせ＆セットアップ

ソーンツリー製ストラトキャスターのフレット部分すり合わせ・セットアップです。

ネックがソーンツリー製造・ボディはフェンダージャパン製らしいとの事です。
中古購入との事です。

フレット状態が悪く音詰まり箇所があり、フレット自体の消耗は全体的にありませんが詰まる箇所があります。

音詰まりしている箇所を部分的にすり合わせ、明らかダメな箇所は改善され全体的に弾けはする状態になりましたが可能であれば全体すり合わせした方が良い状態です。
全体的にフレット状態が悪いです。

またローフレット側の指板が膨張しており、ネックと指板の接着面の段差が目立つ状態です。
こうした状態はネックアイロンを行った際に起き易いです。
恐らく前オーナーがネックアイロンで直してみようとして状態が悪化し、手放した物と思われます。

ネックアイロンで反り等が直る思ってる人は間違いで、まず問題無く直ったらラッキーです。
熱を与える事による不具合も同時に発生するのでリスキーなリペア方法となります。
恐らくネックアイロンを使用しないとダメな状態（トラスロッド限界でネック順反り等）をアイロンを使って直してみたら指板が熱で膨張し、膨張が元に戻らず指板とネックとの段差が手に当たって弾いてて違和感が出る状態になり、アイロン熱による指板の乾燥や膨張でフレットが抜ける等の動く様な状況になりフレット状態が全体的に悪くなってまともに弾く事ができなくなり前オーナーが手放したと思います。

音は良さげなので、まともに使っていこうと思った際はすり合わせして使用する事をお勧めします。

Fret leveling and setup for a Thorn Tree Stratocaster.

The neck appears to be manufactured by Thorn Tree, while the body is likely made by Fender Japan.
It was purchased secondhand.

The frets are in poor condition with some buzzing spots. While overall fret wear is minimal, there are specific areas causing buzz.

We partially refretted the buzzing sections. Clearly problematic areas improved, and the guitar is now playable overall. However, a full refret would be preferable if possible.
The overall fret condition is poor.

Additionally, the fingerboard near the lower frets has swollen, creating a noticeable gap at the joint between the neck and fingerboard.
This condition often occurs after attempting neck ironing.
It’s likely the previous owner tried fixing it with neck ironing, worsened the condition, and then sold it.

People who think neck ironing can fix warping are mistaken; getting it fixed without issues is pure luck.
It’s a risky repair method because applying heat often causes additional problems.
It seems the previous owner tried using a neck iron on a neck that was likely already beyond repair (e.g., severe reverse bow where the truss rod was maxed out). The heat caused the fingerboard to expand, and this expansion didn’t reverse. The resulting gap between the fingerboard and neck became noticeable to the touch while playing, creating discomfort. The fretboard drying out and swelling from the iron’s heat can cause frets to loosen or shift, leading to overall poor fret condition. This likely made it unplayable, prompting the previous owner to part with it.

The sound seems promising, so if you plan to use it properly, I recommend refretting it.

HISTORY Advanced セットアップ＆コンデンサ交換

ヒストリー製アドバンスドのセットアップ・コンデンサ交換です。

一般的な楽器屋で売ってるコンデンサで、付いている物も10万円台にあったりします。

交換後は音が柔らかくなる事とトーン0でもコモリ過ぎないので思ってたよりも良いコンデンサでした。

コンデンサも音が変わるのは事実ですがギターの場合はビジネス目的でヴィンテージコンデンサ等が過度に扱われ過ぎているので要注意です。

今回の様に安いコンデンサでも音は良かったりするので騙されない様に。

This is a capacitor replacement for a History Advanced setup.

These are capacitors sold at regular music stores, and some models even come with ones priced in the 100,000 yen range.

After replacement, the sound became softer, and even with the tone knob at zero, it didn’t get overly muffled. It turned out to be a better capacitor than I expected.

While it’s true that capacitors can change the sound, be cautious with guitars—vintage capacitors and such are often overhyped for commercial purposes.

As seen here, even inexpensive capacitors can sound great, so don’t be fooled.

フジゲン製プレシジョンベースのセットアップです。

左利きモデルになります。

新品アウトレット品で安くなっていたモデルとの事ですが最初からトラスロッドの余り量が少ない状態です。

調整でトラスロッドが殆ど限界状態になりました。

近年はこうした新品でもトラスロッドの余り量が少ない事が非常に多くなりましたので、長持ちする個体を買う意味でもトラスロッドの余り量が多い物を買わないと損します。
具体的に購入前にトラスロッドを店員にお願いして目の前で回してもらい、余り量を確認してから購入した方が良いです。

This is the setup for a Fujigen Precision Bass.

It is a left-handed model.

It was a new outlet model sold at a discount, but it had very little truss rod adjustment range from the start.

Adjusting it brought the truss rod almost to its limit.

In recent years, it has become very common for even new instruments to have insufficient truss rod adjustment range. To ensure you get a long-lasting instrument, it’s essential to purchase one with ample truss rod adjustment range.
Specifically, before buying, ask the salesperson to turn the truss rod in front of you to check the remaining adjustment range before making your purchase.

Sago オーダーギターブリッジ修正＆セットアップ

サゴ製オーダーギターのブリッジ修正・セットアップです。

1～3弦が切れ易いとの事で持ち込まれました。

サドルの消耗？なのかブリッジサドル上で弦の痕が大きく付いており、これが弦が切れる原因の様子です。

近年はパーツの品質も低下している様で（昔は弦が切れ易い話をあまり聞いてない）、弦が当たる所が鋭角だったりすると切れ易くなります。

サドル溝を削って磨いて修正しました。

音のレンジが広く、タイトでクリアーなサウンドです。

指板にリグナムバイタが使用されており珍しい仕様です。硬い材でもあるのでネック強度も高くする事が可能です。

Bridge repair and setup for a custom-made Sago guitar.

Brought in because strings 1 through 3 were breaking easily.

Significant string marks were found on the bridge saddle, possibly due to saddle wear? This appears to be the cause of the string breaks.

Part quality seems to have declined in recent years (we rarely heard about strings breaking easily in the past), and sharp angles where the strings contact the bridge can make them break more readily.

We corrected this by shaving and polishing the saddle grooves.

The result is a wide tonal range with a tight, clear sound.

The fretboard uses Lignum Vitae, a rare specification. Being a hard wood, it also allows for increased neck strength.

LAKLAND SL44-94 Deluxe ジャック交換＆セットアップ

レイクランド製SL44-94のジャック交換・セットアップです。

トラスロッドに殆ど余裕が無い状態です。音が途切れる事からジャックが消耗している状態です。

ジャック交換し音が安定して出る状態になりました。

トラスロッドの余り量は残り少ないですが音が良く弾き易い状態に仕上げる事ができました。

Replacement and setup of the jack on a Lakeland SL44-94.

The truss rod had almost no adjustment range left. The sound was cutting out, indicating the jack was worn out.

After replacing the jack, the sound is now stable.

While the truss rod adjustment range remains limited, we’ve achieved a state where the sound is good and the guitar is easy to play.

フェンダージャパン製エリッククラプトンモデル、ストラトキャスターの配線直し・セットアップです。

ジャック不良、配線切れで音出ない状態です。

お客様の要望でミッドブースターをスイッチポットでON/OFFできる様に加工しました。

サドルが錆で弦高調整に難が起きています。
錆びてビスが回らない場合、基本はパーツ交換となりますので注意が必要です。

ナットが消耗で音詰まりする状態の為、次はナット交換のリペアをお勧めします。

Fender Japan Eric Clapton model Stratocaster wiring repair and setup.

The jack was faulty and wiring was broken, causing no sound output.

Per the customer’s request, we modified it to enable switching the mid-boost on/off via a switch pot.

The saddles are rusted, causing difficulty adjusting string height.
If screws are rusted and won’t turn, part replacement is generally required, so caution is needed.

The nut is worn, causing muffled notes. We recommend replacing the nut as the next repair step.

Gibson SG セットアップ

ギブソン製SGのセットアップです。

メルカリで購入したとのですが、チェックしてみると新品で買って殆ど弾かれずに放置されたもの？かの様な状態でしたので良い状態の物を購入できたと思います。

特にメルカリで購入した際の状態の悪さは異常なので、素人から購入するのは危険なのでお勧めできません。
かと言っても楽器屋のレベルも近年は低いので、状態が悪い物を平気で問題無いと売ってる事も多いのでどちらも同じとも言えるかもしれません。

調整する事で弾き易い状態に仕上げる事ができました。

This is a setup for a Gibson SG.

I bought it on Mercari, but upon checking, it seemed like it was bought new and barely played before being stored away? So I think I got a good condition item.

The poor condition of items bought on Mercari is often unusually bad, so I wouldn’t recommend buying from amateurs.
That said, music stores’ standards have also dropped in recent years, and they often sell instruments in bad condition without batting an eye, claiming they’re fine. So, you could say both are equally risky.

After some adjustments, I got it into a playable condition.

VOX GIULIETTA VGA-3PS-TK TRANS Black セットアップ

VOX製ギルティアのセットアップです。

新品でトラスロッドの余り量が殆ど100％近く余っている状態良い個体です。
こうした個体を買える様に、購入時は楽器屋の方にトラスロッドの余り量をチェックさせてから購入して下さい。
使用していれば弦の張力に負け順反りしてしまうので、その修正範囲が多い物を買わないと長持ちしません。

新品＝状態が良いと思わない事です。
近年は木材が柔らかく、最初からネックが大きく順反りしてる・弦張力で大きく順反りを修正したトラスロッドの余り量が少ない個体が増えており、中には最初からトラスロッドが限界状態で売っている事も全然あります。

エレアコとしても音が良く弾き易い個体です。

こちらは低価格帯モデルの様子ですが、弾き易く音も良いのでお勧めです。

This is a setup for a VOX Guilty guitar.

It’s a new unit in excellent condition with nearly 100% truss rod adjustment range remaining.
To ensure you get such a unit, have the music store check the truss rod adjustment range before purchasing.
If used, the neck will bow forward under string tension, so you must buy one with ample adjustment range for longevity.

Don’t assume new equals good condition.
In recent years, softer woods are common, leading to more instruments with significant initial neck bowing or limited truss rod adjustment range after correcting bowing caused by string tension. Some are even sold with the truss rod already at its limit.

This is a great-sounding, easy-to-play electric-acoustic guitar.

Although it’s a lower-priced model, its playability and sound quality make it highly recommended.

FenderUSA 70年代Mustang セットアップ

フェンダーUSA製ムスタングのセットアップです。

フレット交換されている個体の様で状態が良いです。

ヴィンテージギターを購入されるお勧め方法として「リペアされて価値が下がっている物」を購入した方が良いです。

リペア済みという事はまず弾く事に問題が起きていない状態の可能性が高い事と、直して使う見込みがあった状態という事・通常よりも安く買える事でもあるのでお勧めです。

これがフルオリジナルだと基本的に「状態が悪い」です。
弾くレベルではない（トラスロッド限界で大きく順反り）や各所に難点がありリペアしないと弾けない状態な事も多いです。
直すと価値が下がるから直してないのであって、フルオリジナルが良い訳では絶対にありません。
状態良くフルオリジナルならまず簡単に買える値段ではないでしょう。

セットアップする事で弾き易い状態に仕上げる事ができました。

This is a setup for a Fender USA Mustang.

It appears to have had its frets replaced and is in good condition.

When purchasing vintage guitars, it’s recommended to buy ones that have been repaired and thus have decreased in value.

Being repaired means it’s likely in a playable condition with no major issues, was in a state where repair and use were feasible, and can usually be purchased cheaper than others, making it a good choice.

A fully original guitar is fundamentally “in poor condition.”
It’s often unplayable (e.g., severely bowed with the truss rod at its limit) or has numerous issues requiring repairs to be playable.
The reason it hasn’t been repaired is that doing so would decrease its value; a fully original condition is absolutely not preferable.
A fully original guitar in good condition would likely be far beyond an affordable price range.

The setup has made it playable and comfortable to play.
