ミュージックマン製ルーク4のポット交換です。

2026年に発売した新モデルですが早速トラブルが起きた様子です。

音が異常に小さく、スイッチポットのプッシュ/プッシュ式ポットが壊れて切り替えができない状態です。

内部をチェックしてみるとポットに付いてるプリント基板部分にトラブルが起きている様子です。
薄い基盤を曲げてハンダ付けされておりますが、この曲がった部分で基盤の断線かハンダ不良により通電不良トラブルが起きてます。

またスイッチポットでプッシュ/プッシュ式は非常に壊れ易いので使用はお勧めできません。

お客様の持ち込みでミュージックマン純正ポット交換で対処しました。
こちらは電装系が基盤タイプになるので、交換時はシャフトが長い専用のポットが必要になるので要注意です。
市販品のスイッチポットだとシャフトが短く付ける事ができません。
シャフトが長いスイッチポットじゃないと付かない仕様です。

またネックがセンターズレしている状態です。
ネックポケットがかなりタイトであまり修正できませんが、実際にセンターが少しズレて製造されているようにも見えます。
約80万円するモデルですが、近年は高額でも作りに気になる所がある個体があったりします。

特に問題無く使用できる様になりましたがスイッチポットのプッシュ/プッシュ式だけは同じ様に壊れる可能性があるので、予備のスイッチポットを沢山買って持っておく事をお勧めします。

Replacing the pots on a Music Man Luke 4.

Although this is a new model released in 2026, it appears to have encountered issues right away.

The volume is abnormally low, and the push/push-type switch pot is broken, making it impossible to switch between settings.

Upon inspecting the interior, it appears there is an issue with the printed circuit board attached to the pot.
The thin board is bent and soldered, but a break in the circuit or a soldering defect at this bent section is causing a power supply failure.

Additionally, push-push switch pots are extremely prone to failure, so I do not recommend using them.

The customer brought the guitar in, and we resolved the issue by replacing it with a genuine Music Man pot.
Since the electrical system uses a PCB-based design, please note that a special pot with a long shaft is required for replacement.
Standard off-the-shelf switch pots have shafts that are too short to fit.
It is designed to only accept switch pots with a long shaft.

Additionally, the neck is off-center.
The neck pocket is quite tight, so there isn’t much room for adjustment, but it actually appears as though the instrument was manufactured with the center slightly misaligned.
Although this is a model that costs around 800,000 yen, even with high-priced instruments these days, there are individual units where the craftsmanship leaves something to be desired.

The guitar is now fully functional with no issues, but since the push-push switch pot is prone to breaking again, I recommend purchasing and keeping a large supply of spare switch pots on hand.
