    順反りして弦高が高い状態、電装パーツをEMG・プリアンプ搭載から元のパッシブ仕様に戻す内容です。

    元のパーツはお客様の要望で流用する形となりました。
    古い電装パーツなのでガリ等が発生しておりますが音を出すには問題無さそうです。

    This is a rewiring and setup job for a 1970s Fender USA Jazz Bass.

    The neck was bowing backward, causing high string action. The project involved reverting the electronics from the EMG pickups and preamp to the original passive configuration.

    At the customer’s request, we reused the original parts.
    Since the electronics are old, there is some crackling, but it doesn’t seem to affect the sound.

  • トーカイ製テレキャスターのポット交換・セットアップです。

    お客様の持ち込みでポットをCTSに交換しました。

    元々は国産ポットが付いており、昔から何度も同じギターを調整してきましたがポットが変わるだけでも音が太くなり音抜けも良くなりました。

    国産ポットも悪くはありませんが、電装パーツは性能＝値段な所もあります。

    音は所詮は好みですが、電装パーツは値段が高い物は音も良い傾向です。
    配線材等は好みで選択して問題無いですが、ポットは好みでCTSかボーンズの二択かと思います。

    Pot Replacement and Setup for a Tokai Telecaster.

    The customer brought in the guitar, and we replaced the pots with CTS ones.

    It originally came with Japanese-made pots, and although I’ve adjusted this same guitar many times over the years, simply changing the pots made the tone fuller and improved the sound projection.

    Japanese-made pots aren’t bad, but with electronic components, performance often correlates with price.

    Sound is ultimately a matter of personal preference, but with electronic components, higher-priced parts tend to produce better sound.
    You can choose wiring and other materials based on your preference, but when it comes to pots, I think it boils down to a choice between CTS and Bones.

  • フェンダージャパン製ストラトキャスターのジャック交換・セットアップです。

    Aシリアルのモデルです。

    長年倉庫に閉まっていたとの事で各所が汚れています。

    ジャック不良があるので新品に交換しましたが音は安定して出ております。
    動作確認＋調整してみて使えるかチェックしたいとの事でセットアップしてみましたが特に問題無さそうです。

    また音が非常に良い個体で、当時は数万円でかなり良い個体が普通に購入できた良い時代です。

    別にフェンダージャパンの初期シリアルだからとか関係無く2000年代辺りまでのフェンダージャパンの数万円モデルでもかなり良いのでお勧めです。

    This is a jack replacement and setup for a Fender Japan Stratocaster.

    It’s an A-serial model.

    It had been stored in a warehouse for many years, so it’s dirty in various places.

    The jack was faulty, so I replaced it with a new one, and the sound is now stable.
    The owner wanted me to test the functionality and adjust it to see if it was usable, so I performed a setup, and it seems to be working fine.

    It’s also a guitar with excellent tone. Back then, it was a great era when you could easily buy a really good Fender Japan model for just a few tens of thousands of yen.

    Regardless of whether it’s an early Fender Japan serial number or not, even the Fender Japan models from around the 2000s that cost a few tens of thousands of yen are quite good, so I highly recommend them.

  • ギブソン製フライングVのセットアップです。

    大きく順反りして弦高が高い状態です。

    こうした状態でサドルで弦高調整するのはNGです。
    まずはネックの反りを調整した上でサドルで弦高を調整しないと大体は「弦高が高いのに音が詰まる」様な状態になります。

    反りを調整し弾き易い状態に仕上げる事ができました。

    Here is the setup for a Gibson Flying V.

    The neck has a significant forward bow, resulting in high string action.

    In this condition, adjusting the string height at the saddle is not recommended.
    If you don’t first correct the neck bow and then adjust the string height at the saddle, you’ll likely end up with a situation where the strings are high but the sound is muffled.

    We were able to correct the bow and get the guitar into a comfortable playing condition.

  • ハーレーベントン製TE-90QMのセットアップです。

    海外から自分で購入しないと手に入らないメーカーですが、低価格帯ながら非常に良いモデルです。
    もしくはメルカリ・ヤフオクに転売されている物を買うしかありません。

    調整してみると音が非常に良く、約36000円＋送料＋関税で約5万円程度になります。
    5～6万円と考えても非常に良いギターで、音質は良く弾き易いです。

    ナット高がやや高い・フレットサイド処理は甘い等と低価格帯あるあるな箇所はありますが弾けないレベルではありません。

    かなり価格破壊しているモデルですので、低価格帯で良いギターをお探しの方にお勧め機種です。

    Here is the setup for the Harley Benton TE-90QM.

    This is a brand you can only get by purchasing directly from overseas, but despite being in the lower price range, it’s an excellent model.
    Alternatively, your only option is to buy one resold on Mercari or Yahoo Auctions.

    After tuning it, the sound is fantastic. The total cost comes to about 50,000 yen, including the base price of roughly 36,000 yen plus shipping and customs duties.
    Even at 50,000 to 60,000 yen, it’s a fantastic guitar—it sounds great and is easy to play.

    While it has some typical low-end issues, such as a slightly high nut height and rough fret edges, it’s by no means unplayable.

    Since this model is a real bargain, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good guitar in the lower price range.

    新品で購入との事ですが特に問題無く仕上がりました。

    音がタイトで煌びやかで、見た目とは違いモダン系な音がするギターです。
    見た目的にはヴィンテージ系、雑味が多い古い音が鳴ってきそうですがかなり真逆なサウンドです。

    レンジが狭く聴こえは良いが物足りなく感じる為、PU交換で化けるギターかもしれません。

    低価格帯的な、電装パーツを変えれば良くなるかなって感覚のギターです。

    Here is the setup for the Harley Benton TE-90QM.

    I was told it was purchased brand new, and the setup went off without a hitch.

    The tone is tight and sparkling; despite its vintage appearance, it has a surprisingly modern sound.
    Visually, it looks vintage and seems like it would produce a rough, old-school sound, but the actual tone is quite the opposite.

    The dynamic range feels a bit narrow—it sounds good but leaves something to be desired—so this might be a guitar that really comes into its own with a pickup swap.

    It’s the kind of guitar you’d expect to find in the lower price range, where you get the feeling that swapping out the electronics might make it sound better.

    J.W.Black製テレキャスターのジャック交換です。

    Masteryに交換です。現代的なブリッジです。
    こちらは弦が3本乗るサドルが2個で構成されるブリッジになり、傾斜を付ける事でオクターブ位置を調整します。

    交換後は音が太くなり分離も良くなりました。

    アコギっぽいニュアンスがするテレキャスターで非常に良い個体です。

    Replacing the jack on a J.W. Black Telecaster.

    I’m upgrading it to a Mastery bridge—a modern-style bridge.
    This bridge features two saddles, each supporting three strings, and the octave position is adjusted by tilting the saddles.

    After the replacement, the tone became fuller and the separation improved.

    It’s a fantastic Telecaster with a touch of acoustic guitar character.

  • ギブソンカスタムショップ製レスポールカスタムのポット交換です。

    ノブを接着剤で付けてみたらポットが回らなくなったとの事で持ち込まれました。

    ノブが上手く付かない場合は接着剤を使用しないで下さい。
    ポットは消耗品の為、交換する事も考えたら交換時に困難になります。

    接着剤が垂れてポットのナットまで固まっており、その上でナットが斜めに入って無理矢理溝に噛んでいる事から外れない状態（過去に交換していない箇所）です。

    ですのでコントロール側からポットを壊して外し、新品に交換する事で元通りに復元する事ができました。

    Pot replacement on a Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Custom.

    The customer brought it in because the knobs wouldn’t turn after trying to attach them with adhesive.

    Please do not use adhesive if the knobs won’t fit properly.
    Since pots are consumable parts, using adhesive makes replacement difficult later.

    Adhesive had dripped and hardened all the way to the pot’s nut. The nut was then forced into the groove at an angle, making it impossible to remove (this was a previously unreplaced section).

    Therefore, we removed the pot by breaking it from the control side and replaced it with a new one, restoring it to its original condition.

    状態良く調整は特に問題ありませんでした。

    音がモッサリ系で50年代モデルの様子です。

    音が柔らかく雑味が多いので現行品でもヴィンテージギターの様なニュアンスが出せるモデルかと思います。

    Here is the setup for a Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster.

    It was in good condition and required no major adjustments.

    The tone has a mellow, mellow character, typical of a ’50s model.

    With its soft tone and rich, warm character, I believe this model can produce a vintage-style sound even though it’s a modern instrument.

  • Musicman LUKE 4 ポット交換＆セットアップ

    ミュージックマン製ルーク4のポット交換です。

    2026年に発売した新モデルですが早速トラブルが起きた様子です。

    音が異常に小さく、スイッチポットのプッシュ/プッシュ式ポットが壊れて切り替えができない状態です。

    内部をチェックしてみるとポットに付いてるプリント基板部分にトラブルが起きている様子です。
    薄い基盤を曲げてハンダ付けされておりますが、この曲がった部分で基盤の断線かハンダ不良により通電不良トラブルが起きてます。

    またスイッチポットでプッシュ/プッシュ式は非常に壊れ易いので使用はお勧めできません。

    お客様の持ち込みでミュージックマン純正ポット交換で対処しました。
    こちらは電装系が基盤タイプになるので、交換時はシャフトが長い専用のポットが必要になるので要注意です。
    市販品のスイッチポットだとシャフトが短く付ける事ができません。
    シャフトが長いスイッチポットじゃないと付かない仕様です。

    またネックがセンターズレしている状態です。
    ネックポケットがかなりタイトであまり修正できませんが、実際にセンターが少しズレて製造されているようにも見えます。
    約80万円するモデルですが、近年は高額でも作りに気になる所がある個体があったりします。

    特に問題無く使用できる様になりましたがスイッチポットのプッシュ/プッシュ式だけは同じ様に壊れる可能性があるので、予備のスイッチポットを沢山買って持っておく事をお勧めします。

    Replacing the pots on a Music Man Luke 4.

    Although this is a new model released in 2026, it appears to have encountered issues right away.

    The volume is abnormally low, and the push/push-type switch pot is broken, making it impossible to switch between settings.

    Upon inspecting the interior, it appears there is an issue with the printed circuit board attached to the pot.
    The thin board is bent and soldered, but a break in the circuit or a soldering defect at this bent section is causing a power supply failure.

    Additionally, push-push switch pots are extremely prone to failure, so I do not recommend using them.

    The customer brought the guitar in, and we resolved the issue by replacing it with a genuine Music Man pot.
    Since the electrical system uses a PCB-based design, please note that a special pot with a long shaft is required for replacement.
    Standard off-the-shelf switch pots have shafts that are too short to fit.
    It is designed to only accept switch pots with a long shaft.

    Additionally, the neck is off-center.
    The neck pocket is quite tight, so there isn’t much room for adjustment, but it actually appears as though the instrument was manufactured with the center slightly misaligned.
    Although this is a model that costs around 800,000 yen, even with high-priced instruments these days, there are individual units where the craftsmanship leaves something to be desired.

    The guitar is now fully functional with no issues, but since the push-push switch pot is prone to breaking again, I recommend purchasing and keeping a large supply of spare switch pots on hand.
