Gibson Robot Guitar SG 配線チェック

ギブソン製SGの配線チェックです。

ロボットギターと呼ばれるオートチューナーが付いたモデルです。

音が小さくなるとの事で持ち込まれました。

配線は問題無さそうですが各所にガリがあるので洗浄剤で対処しました。
各所チェックしてみるとギター本体に問題は無く、使用しているシールドケーブルに問題がありそうです。

ペグがバッテリー式により、消耗しているのかそこまで電池が持たない様子です。
電池が切れたら手で回せば良いと思いがちですが回しても動きが遅く、引っ掛かりがある様なので手作業で巻けないペグがあります。

壊れたら普通のペグに交換されている事が理解できました。
便利に見えてかなり不都合なペグに思います。

ギブソン製フライングVのPU交換・セットアップです。

フロントPUを交換持ち込みのファットキャットに交換です。
フライングVがそうなのか他は違うのか不明ですがザグリが浅いのでPUの足が短い物がお勧めです。
ファットキャットはPUの足が短いので薄いボディのザグリにも合います。元の57Classicは床付きして下げれる限度が出てきます。

程好い音の太さで高域も痛くない良いフロントサウンドになりました。

ギブソンのPUでP-94等も名機ですが、何故か良い物が売れないので本当に謎です。
パーツを選ぶ際は有名でない、あまり使われないパーツを選んで下さい。
有名所は大体ステマです。

PU replacement and setup for a Gibson Flying V.

The front PU was replaced with a Fat Cat, which was brought in as a replacement.

The Fat Cat has short PU legs, so it fits well with the thin body. The original 57Classic is floored, so there is a limit to how low it can be lowered.

Gibson’s P-94 and other PUs are also famous, but it is really a mystery why good ones don’t sell.

Gibson サンダーバードナット交換

ギブソン製サンダーバードのナット交換です。

開放弦で音詰まり、ナット高が低い状態です。

ナットを交換し問題無い状態に仕上げる事ができました。

中古品・古い年代製は消耗でナットが低い・フレットが消耗し音が詰まっている等が起こっていますのでリペアは基本必須です。
なので基本的に購入時はリペアもセットで考えると良いでしょう。

Gibson 50周年記念モデルフライングV ナット交換

ギブソン製50周年記念モデル、フライングVのナット交換です。

消耗で開放弦が音詰まりする状態です。

ナットを交換する事で問題無い状態に仕上げる事ができました。

細かい点としてフロントPUのザグリが浅くPU高を下げれない事と斜めに傾くので内部にスポンジを入れてなるべく傾かない様にしてみました。

リアはファットキャットに交換されており音の切れが良いです。
意外とギブソンはギブソン製でないPUの方が合うのでは？と思うので、音が太過ぎたり歯切れが悪いと思っている人はPU交換すると良いでしょう。
元から太いサウンド傾向なので太いブーミー感のPUではアンバランスになる事が多いのがギブソンだと思います。

ギブソン製レスポールのPU交換です。

お客様が中古で入手した57クラシックに交換です。

最近はギブソンPUが入手し難くなってきた様で中古価格が高騰している様です。
またこうしたモデルはPU本体に刻印がある訳じゃないので、本物かどうか分かりません。
シールが貼ってはいますが似た物を作る事も可能でしょう。中古品は少し疑った方が良いです。
この辺りは不明ですが2つとも同じ抵抗値でした。

音が柔らかく扱い易く、フロントは程好い太さにリアは柔らかいサウンドです。
ギブソン的なブーミー感を感じる音が好きな人はフロントにお勧めで、特にリアは柔らかい傾向になるのでお勧めです。

ギブソン製レスポールベースのセットアップです。

大きく順反りして弾き難い状態です。

調整してみるとナット高が低く、反りを真っ直ぐにすると音詰まるのでネックをストレートに調整できない状態です。
ちゃんとした状態にするにはナット交換が必要な状態です。

開放弦が詰まってしますのでやや順反り状態ですがそこまで弾き難くないのでこの状態で仕上げました。
よく言われる「若干の順反り」は私から見たらただの順反りです。
この辺りは言葉の具合なので人によって異なると思いますが、若干順反りで上手く調整したつもりでも大体は順反りで状態が悪いので調整はお店で行いましょう。
音程感も悪く弾き難い状態で使用している事になります。

ギブソン製レスポール、スラッシュモデルのセットアップです。

ネックが順反りして弾き難い、リアPUが高すぎて音量バランスが悪い状態です。

新品状態でもまともに調整できていない事も多いので、購入時は必ず調整が必要です。

フェンダーやギブソンは特に新品時から弦高が高い・ネックが順反り過ぎな事も多いです。

調整する事で弾き易くなり、音量バランスも良くなって扱い易くなりました。

Gibson製レスポールの電池BOX修正です。

EMGに交換されたモデルになります。

またこうした症状は非常に多いので、アクティブベース等も同様な不具合が起こります。

電池BOXの接点金具に錆、音が出たり出なかったりする状態です。
電池の液漏れや湿気等で錆が出る部分ですが、この部分もペラペラな金具なので単純に奥に端子が倒れ込んで接点不良にもなります。
電池BOXは便利かもしれませんが基本的に余程の理由が無い限り「使用しない方が良い」です。
安全なのは電池スナップで使用する事、物理的に電池と繋がっているのでまずこうしたトラブルは起きません。

電池BOXが使用できない状態なので電池スナップを増設して解決しました。
電池BOXは裏パネルに接着されている為、新しい裏パネルを入手して取り付けるとの事でした。

電池BOXも正直、メーカーはこの状況を分かっていますでしょうか？
パーツメーカーはもっと良い電池BOXを作って下さい。

Gibson ES-335 フレットすり合わせ

ギブソン製ES-335のフレットすり合わせです。

消耗でフレット状態が悪く使用が難しい状態です。

こうした状態でも気にせず使用している人も多いかもしれませんが、音詰まり箇所があると正しく鳴らないポジションが出てくるのでコードの響き等も悪くなります。
音詰まり箇所がミュートしている様な状態になるので、ギターの場合は周りの人も気が付く位にかなり気になってくると思います。

フレットをすり合わせ問題無い状態に仕上げました。

特にギブソン製はフレットの仕上げも悪く上面が台形な事も多い為、綺麗に丸めると音程感も非常に良くなります。
正直、元状態が良くないので新品でもすり合わせてフレット上面を綺麗に丸めて使用した方が絶対に良いです。

ギブソン製レスポールのPU交換です。

中古品、電装がイジられた跡がある個体です。

今回はPUを中古で手に入れたバーストバッカー1と2に交換です。
近年はこうしたPUが入荷待ち等で新品で手に入り難くなり、中古品も転売ヤーのせいで高額取引されていたりします。

ご希望によりPUカバーを外しての組み付けですがカバーを外したらPU表面に割れがありました。
音は出るが本物か不明です。
PU本体に型番が彫られている訳じゃないので、中古品はこうした本物かどうか分からなくなります。
結局は抵抗値も近い値に入れ替えても分からなくなるので、中古品も正直信用できません。

音がモダンで明るめになりました。
バーストバッカーの音の印象が違う様にも思うのですがこれも良いサウンド傾向なので、実際にPUは付けてみないと分からない所があります。
