メーカー不明レスポール PU交換＆セットアップ Gibson “Dirty Fingers”

メーカー不明の何かしら国産モデルをモデファイした様なレスポールのPU交換・セットアップです。
ロゴが無いのでメーカー不明です。

PUを持ち込みのギブソン製ダーティフィンガーに交換です。
古い年代のパワーがあるモデルですね。

音がタイトで荒い歪みなサウンドになりました。
ダーティフィンガーは70年代に登場したとの事ですが歴史が古い事から音も現代のハイパワー系PUとは音のニュアンスが異なります。
こうしたモデルを弾いてみると現代に行くにつれ歪みが細かく綺麗に聞こえてきます。
そうした意味ではダーティフィンガーは近年には出せない歪みサウンドが出せます。

This is a PU replacement/setup for a Les Paul that looks like a modification of some domestic model from an unknown maker.
The maker is unknown because there is no logo.

The PU is replaced with a Gibson Dirty Finger.
This model has a lot of power in the old age.

The sound is now tight and rough distorted.
Dirty Finger was introduced in the 70’s. Because of its old history, the sound is different from modern high-power PUs.
When you play these models, you can hear the distortion more finely and beautifully as you go up to the modern era.
In this sense, Dirty Finger can produce a distortion sound that cannot be produced in recent years.

YAMAHA Pacifica USA フレットすり合わせ＆フレットサイド処理＆PU交換 DP159 DiMarzio EVOLUTION

ヤマハUSA製パシフィカのフレットすり合わせ・フレットサイド処理・PU交換です。

大きく順反りし調整でトラスロッドが限界状態です。

過去に他店でフレットすり合わせをした事があるそうだが仕上げが雑でフレットを丸めていない台形状態です。
ただ上面をすり合わせて終わった様な状態です。
酷い仕上げで平気で渡してくる所も多いので気を付けましょう。

フロント・リアPUをディマジオ製エボリューションに交換しました。

フレットをすり合わせサイド処理も行う事で以前と全然違う弾き心地と弾き易さに変わりました。

良いリペアショップか確認する方法として簡単な質問に「弦を緩めるかどうか？」を訪ねてみると良いです。
詳しくは「個体による、トラスロッドの余り量を確認して個体に合わせる」が正確な答えですが知識の無いリペアショップは「弦は張りっぱなしで良い」と答えます。
そうしたお店に頼んではいけません。知識が無いので良い仕事はできない所でしょう。

This is a Yamaha USA Pacifica with fret grind, fret side treatment, and PU replacement.

The truss rod is at the limit of its capacity due to the large forward bow and adjustment.

The fret board has been fretted at another store in the past, but the fret board has not been rounded and is in trapezoidal shape.
It looks as if they just finished rubbing the top surface.
There are many places that will give you a badly finished guitar without a care in the world, so be careful.

Front and rear PUs have been replaced with DiMaggio Evolution.

The frets have been grated and the side treatment has been done to make the guitar feel completely different and easier to play than before.

A simple question to ask a good repair store is, “Do you loosen the strings?” You can also ask a simple question, “Do you loosen strings?
The exact answer is “It depends on the individual instrument, check the amount of truss rod left and adjust it to the individual instrument”.
Do not ask such a store to do the work. They are not knowledgeable and will not be able to do a good job.

PRS SE Custom24 配線直し＆ナット溝切り調整＆セットアップ EMG（旧ロゴ・ハンダ付けタイプ） 81 85

PRS SE製カスタム24の配線直し・ナット溝切り調整・セットアップです。

ナットが交換されている？のかナット溝の高さが非常に高い状態で弾き難いです。
タスクナットを勘違いして交換している人が多いのですが「〇〇用サイズ」として販売されているタスクナットが交換するだけでジャストサイズになると思っていたら大間違いです。
個体により状態が違うので、交換後は溝切り調整をしないとダメです。

パーツ全て持ち込みにて古いEMGへ交換のついでに電装系を全て新品に交換しました。
EMGに交換する際はアクティブの数値になるのでセレクター以外は全交換となります。

フロントの85は太さがありフルアコやセミアコみたいな太さと福与かさが音にあり、とてもアクティブと思えない様な自然なサウンドです。
昔のEMGは音が良かったのですが、現行品とは一味違うサウンドです。

リアの81は歪みが綺麗に整います。現行品と同じくクリーンではなく歪み用といったサウンドなのは変わりませんが低音も出るので硬過ぎな印象は無いです。

ピッキングの強弱も出るので現行品と全然違う音なのでEMGに思っているイメージが覆ると思います。
現行品EMGは音が冷たく硬い傾向なのは恐らくコネクタ仕様も関係しており、Gibson等にも電装系がコネクタ付けのモデルがありますがパーツ交換で通常のハンダ付け仕様に直すだけでも音が大きく変化します。

現行品EMGでもPU本体以外をハンダ付け仕様にするだけでも近いサウンドにはできるかもしれません。

This is a PRS SE Custom 24 rewired, nut groove cut adjustment and setup.

Has the nut been replaced? The height of the nut groove is very high and it is difficult to play.
Many people have mistakenly replaced the task nut, but you are mistaken if you think that the task nut sold as “size for 00” will be the right size just by replacing it.
Since the condition differs from one individual to another, it is necessary to adjust the groove cut after the replacement.

We brought in all the parts and replaced all the electrical components with new ones while replacing the old EMGs.
When replacing the EMGs, all parts were replaced except the selector, which was replaced with a new one, since it is an active value.

The front 85 has a fatness and a blessing like a full acoustic or semi-acoustic, and the sound is so natural that it is hard to believe it is active.
The old EMGs had a good sound, but it is a different sound from the current products.

The 81 in the rear is nicely distorted. Like the current product, it still sounds like it is for distortion, not clean, but it also has a low end, so there is no impression of being too hard.

The sound is totally different from the current model, so I think it will change the image you have of EMGs.
The current EMGs tend to sound cold and hard, which is probably related to the connector specifications, and Gibson and others have models with connector-mounted electrical systems, but the sound can be greatly changed by simply replacing the parts with normal soldering specifications.

Even with the current EMGs, it may be possible to achieve a similar sound by simply soldering the parts other than the PU itself.

FERNANDES 布袋寅泰モデル TE-95HT PU交換＆セットアップ

フェルナンデス製布袋モデルTE-95HTのPU交換・セットアップです。

布袋モデルの珍しいPUに交換しました。中々出回らず入手も難しいPUかと思います。

音の芯が強いが細い感じの音で、分離が良いですが音が硬いサウンドです。

いわゆるBOWWY時代位からの布袋サウンドの元となっているイメージ通りの音がします。
冷たい感じ・煌びやかな感じと言葉で伝えるのは難しいですがファンなら分かってもらえる音がする事でしょう。
ただしパワーも弱いのでこれはかなり弾く事が難しいと思います。
上手い人が良いサウンドになるでしょうけど、下手な人が弾けばそのままハッキリ音に出てくると思います。

This is a rare PU replacement of the Hotei model. It is very rare and hard to find.

The sound has a strong but thin core, and the separation is good, but the sound is hard.

However, it is not very powerful, so it is quite difficult to play.

Creation ストラトキャスター EMG換装 EMG S 81

クリエーション製ストラトキャスターのEMG換装です。

パッシブからEMGに交換する場合は電装系パーツもセレクター以外は全交換になります。
アクティブはポットの抵抗数値が大きく異なる為、交換が必要となります。

フロント・センターはS、リアは81となります。

SはSAと比べて音がクリア傾向、現代寄りの音となります。
SAと弾き比べるとよく分かりますがSAはもっさり、Sはクリアに感じます。

SAよりはSの方が好む人が多そうです。

81は歪み向けでクリーンよりも歪みに特化したサウンドです。

Youtubeに動画を出していますので、動画で音を確認すると違いが分かり易いと思います。

This is an EMG conversion of a Creation Stratocaster.

When replacing a passive guitar with an EMG, all electrical parts must be replaced except for the selector.
The resistance value of the active pots is very different from the passive pots, so they need to be replaced.

The front and center are S, and the rear is 81.

The S tends to sound clearer and more modern than the SA.
The SA is more sparse and the S is clearer, as you can see when you compare it with the SA.

Many people seem to prefer the S over the SA.

The 81 is for distortion and specializes in distortion rather than clean.

コンポーネントギターコネクタ仕様EMG→ハンダ付けEMGへ交換旧EMG 58 SA

コンポーネントギターのPU交換です。

今回は現行品EMGからハンダ付けタイプのEMGへ交換です。

SA×2とリアは58になります。

ハンダ付けタイプに交換して分かり易い所では音が柔らかくなり歪みも現行品と比べ落ちる結果になります。
コネクタタイプは低音が落ちる事から煌びやかな音になり易く、現行品でもコネクタをハンダ付けする事でも似た効果が得られるかもしれません。
内部のオペアンプが変わっているのか劣化なのか出力も違う印象です。現行品の方がパワーがある様に感じます。

SAは非常に良いPUで私も昔からお勧めしているPUなのですがリアの58は表現力が狭く扱い難い印象があります。
58は定番の85や81と比べあまり使用されないPUと思うのですが、コンプ感が強く制限を受けている感が強いです。

また古いPUは中古品となるので、壊れていたり劣化で元の音と変わっている可能性もあります。
なので正しい状態で判断できているのかも微妙なのであくまでこのギターの場合としての感想となります。

古い年代のPUを購入する際も実際に音が出ている所を確認した上で購入できたら理想です。
外した状態で販売されている物を購入する形になりますが「そもそも販売する理由がある」ので、壊れているんじゃないか？と疑う事も大事です。

This is a PU replacement for a component guitar.

This time, we are replacing the current EMG with a soldered type EMG.

SA x 2 and the rear is a 58.

The sound is softer and the distortion is lower compared to the current product.
The connector type tends to make a shimmering sound due to the drop in bass, and a similar effect may be obtained by soldering the connectors on the current product.
I have the impression that the output is also different, perhaps due to a change in the internal op-amps or deterioration. The current product seems to have more power.

The SA is a very good PU and I have been recommending it for a long time, but I have the impression that the rear 58 has a narrow expressive power and is difficult to handle.
I think the 58 is less used than the 85 and 81, which are standard PUs, but it has a strong sense of compressiveness and is very limited.

Also, since old PUs are used, there is a possibility that they are broken or deteriorated and the original sound may have changed.
Therefore, I am not sure if I am making a correct judgment, so this is just my opinion in the case of this guitar.

When purchasing an old PU, it would be ideal if you could check the actual sound before you buy it.
It is important to be skeptical about whether the PU is broken or not, because “there is a reason why it is sold in the first place”. It is important to be skeptical.

Knaggs Guitars Chesapeake Severn Trem HSS PU交換＆セットアップ bare knuckle aftermath

ナッグス製チェサピークのPU交換＆セットアップです。

リアをベアナックル製アフターマスに交換です。

フロント・センターがセイモアダンカンのオーダー品、元がリアはSH-4の仕様です。

煌びやかな音が出るが硬い音がしない、リアはハイゲインPUで歪みのノリが良いPUですね。

こうした高額なモデルでリアにSH-4が付いているのは謎な所はありますが、もし同じモデルを使用している方はリアPUは交換された方がもっと良くなると思います。

This is a PU replacement & setup for a Nags Chesapeake.

Rear is replaced with Bare Knuckle Aftermath.

Front and center are Seymour Duncan order and the original is SH-4 for the rear.

It has a shimmering but not hard sound, and the rear is a high-gain PU with a good distortion groove.

It is a bit of a mystery why such an expensive model has SH-4 on the rear, but if you are using the same model, I think the rear PU would be much better if replaced.

Bacchus WL-4 STD/RSM PU交換＆セットアップローステッドメイプル KENT ARMSTRONG HOTLIPS TUBE JAZZBASS CHROME

バッカス製WL-4のPU交換・セットアップです。

交換するPUは珍しいリップスティック型、ケントアームストロング製リップスティックです。

このモデルはジャズベース用で販売されているモデルですが形状が異なりザグリに入りませんので注意が必要です。
ただ元々パワーがあるPUじゃないので、ザグリに入る位にPU高を下げる必要も無いので問題は起きないのですがザグリに入るつもりで買うと後悔します。

新品購入との事ですが最初からトラスロッドに余裕が無い状態、ネックが柔らかく弦を張るとかなり大きく反ります。
最近はそうした物も多いので要注意です。買う前にトラスロッドの余り量を確認させるのは必須です。
近年のネックは柔らかいので逆に言えば弦を緩めているとトラスロッドの力で簡単に逆反りする可能性も大きくなるので、長持ちさせるには反りに敏感に対応しないといけません。
特にこうした最初からトラスロッドの余裕が無い場合は猶更で、将来の事を考えて扱わないと簡単にトラスロッドが限界になりそこから更に順反りすると直せないので弾き難い状態で使用を続ける事となります。

弦を張りっぱなしで良いとか言ってるリペアマンに仕事を頼まないで下さい。他人の不幸で金を儲ける悪人です。

ケントアームストロング製リップスティックは音はもっさり傾向で音は柔らかいです。
恐らく万人受けはしない音と思いますが他には出ない音とも言い切れます。
一般的なモデルに付いてる事が殆ど無いのも弾いてみて分かる気がします。
人を選ぶPUかと思いますのでこれは実際に使ってみないと難しい判断になると思いますがジャズ等の音楽に合うと思います。
バンドの音としての使用は正直合わないか使い難い事でしょう。

This is a PU replacement and setup for a Bacchus WL-4.

The PU to be replaced is a rare lipstick type, Kent Armstrong lipstick.

This model is sold for jazz basses, but the shape is different and it does not fit in the counterbore.
However, since it is not a powerful PU, there is no need to lower the height of the PU so that it can fit in the counterbore, so there will be no problem.

You said you bought it new, but there is no room in the truss rod from the beginning, and the neck is soft, so it will warp a lot when you put strings on it.
There are many such instruments nowadays, so be careful. It is essential to check the amount of truss rod left before buying.
Necks these days are so soft that, conversely, if the strings are loose, there is a big possibility that the truss rod will easily warp the neck backwards, so you must be sensitive to warping in order to prolong its life.
If the truss rod is not treated with the future in mind, the truss rod will easily reach its limit, and if it warps further, it will continue to be used in a state where it is difficult to play because it cannot be fixed.

Please do not ask a repairman to do your work if he says you can just leave the strings on. They are evil people who make money off of other people’s misfortune.

The Kent Armstrong Lipstick tends to sound sluggish and the tone is soft.
It’s a sound that probably won’t be to everyone’s taste, but it’s also a sound that can’t be found anywhere else.
I can understand why it is rarely attached to general models when I play it.
I think it is a PU that is suitable for jazz and other types of music.
I think it is suitable for jazz and other music, but not for band sound, or it would be difficult to use.

Gibson ファイヤーバード PU交換＆セットアップ Seymour Duncan CustomShop

ギブソン製ファイヤーバードのPU交換・セットアップです。

お客様持ち込みのダンカンカスタムショップPUに交換しました。
ミニハムは選択肢が少ないので限られた物で交換する他ありません。

音が柔らかく扱い易いサウンド、テレキャスターを良くした様なサウンド傾向です。
キャラクターが大きく変化した様な印象です。ミニハムはどうしても癖強なサウンド傾向かと思いますがその辺りが緩和され扱い易くなったので使用できる音が増えた印象です。

This is a Gibson Firebird PU replacement and setup.

We replaced it with a Duncan Custom Shop PU brought in by the customer.
There are only a few choices of mini hums, so we had to replace it with a limited number of them.

The sound is soft and easy to handle.

PRS SE Custom24 PU交換 EMG 81 85

PRS SE製カスタム24のPU交換です。

リア81を85に交換です。ハンダ付けタイプの古いモデルになります。

音のミドル感が柔らかくなり、フロントの85とバランスが良くなって扱い易くなりました。
PUの組み合わせは好みですが81はミドルが出て歪み用な音ですので、バランスが良いのは85になります。

歪ませるとやや曇った古いサウンドが出るので、イメージとしてはヴィンテージギターの様なサウンドでアクティブPUという感じもしません。
昔のEMGは明らか音が良いので、現行品と違う点があるかもしれません。

This is a PU replacement for a Custom 24 made by PRS SE.

Rear 81 is replaced with 85. It is an old soldering type model.

The middle of the sound has been softened and the balance with the front 85 has been improved, making it easier to handle.
The 81 has a middle sound and is for distortion, so the 85 has a better balance.

When distorted, it has a slightly cloudy old sound, so it sounds like a vintage guitar in my image, and it does not feel like an active PU.
The old EMGs obviously sound better, so there may be some differences from the current product.
