Vanzandt STV-R2 PU交換＆コンデンサ交換 Rugir Pickups’s

ヴァンザンド製ストラトキャスターのPU交換・コンデンサ交換です。

以前に交換したルジールPUのモデルを巻き数等を変更し改良されたPUです。

ピッチは同じで弦位置と合いませんが、以前よりパワーが上がり音の芯が強くなりボヤけない音像になりました。

音質もハム寄りになりコード鳴りも良いです。
単音が太いのでシングルコイルっぽさが減り、シングルっぽさを求めるならほんの少しコイル巻き数を減らした方が良いかも。
たった500回巻きでも音が以前よりも大きく変化した様に感じました。

お客様の要望でコンデンサをオレンジドロップ0.022ufに交換しました。
リアＰＵがハム寄りの音になったので、コンデンサも0.047から交換すると音の太さが変わってきます。

Vanzand Stratocaster pickup and capacitor replacement.

This pickup is an improved version of the previously installed Rujir pickup, featuring modified winding counts and other enhancements.

While the pitch remains the same and doesn’t perfectly align with the string positions, it delivers increased power compared to before. The sound has a stronger core and a clearer, less muddy tone.

The tone leans more towards humbucker characteristics, and chord voicing is excellent.
The single notes are thicker, reducing the typical single-coil character. If you prefer a more single-coil sound, slightly reducing the coil count might be better.
Even just 500 fewer turns seemed to make a significant difference in the sound compared to before.

At the customer’s request, the capacitor was replaced with an Orange Drop 0.022uF.
Since the rear pickup now has a more humbucker-like sound, changing the capacitor from 0.047 also alters the overall thickness of the tone.

vanzandt ストラトキャスター配線直し＆セットアップブレンダー回路

ヴァンザンド製ストラトキャスターの配線直し・セットアップです。

またお客様の要望でリアのトーンを250ｋΩから500ｋΩにしてみたいとの要望で交換しました。
スイッチポットを使い、フロントＰＵを混ぜるブレンダー回路になりました。

トーンでも250KΩから500ｋΩになるとコモる範囲が減り、微調整の幅が広がる印象です。
ボリュームポットのKΩを変えて音を変える方法は定番ですが、トーンでもサウンド変化が起こります。

ブレンダー回路はセンター＋リア時のポジションでONにすると、フロント＋リアの他にPU3つを鳴らす事も可能になり新しいストラトに産まれ変わります。

ブレンダー回路も近年の定番改造になってますので、まだ知らない人は試した方が良いでしょう。

Wiring rework and setup for a Vanzand Stratocaster.

Also, per the customer’s request, we replaced the rear tone pot from 250kΩ to 500kΩ.
Using a switch pot, it now functions as a blender circuit mixing the front pickup.

Changing the tone pot from 250kΩ to 500kΩ seems to reduce the range of muddiness and expand the scope for fine-tuning.
Changing the KΩ rating of the volume pot to alter the sound is a classic method, but changing the tone pot also produces sound variations.

With the blender circuit, when switched ON in the Center + Rear position, it allows all three pickups to sound simultaneously, in addition to Front + Rear, effectively reborn as a new Strat.

The blender circuit has become a standard modification in recent years, so if you haven’t tried it yet, it’s worth giving it a shot.

ヴァンザンド製ストラトキャスターのPU交換・セットアップです。

ルジールPUのオーダーPUをリアPUに交換です。

ポールピースが調整できる仕様ですが製造上ピッチが狭い物しか作れないそうで、リアに付けると弦下にポールピース位置が来ません。

ストラトのリアを太くした様な音で、通常のギラギラとした細いリアと比べ太さがあり音抜けがあって非常に良いと思います。
モッサリ感があってマイルドなリアになるので耳に痛い音にならず使い易くなったと思います。

Vanzand Stratocaster pickup replacement and setup.

Replacing the rear pickup with a custom-order Rujir pickup.

Although the pole pieces are adjustable, apparently only narrow-pitch ones can be manufactured. When installed in the rear position, the pole piece position doesn’t align under the strings.

It produces a sound reminiscent of a thickened Strat rear pickup. Compared to the typical bright, thin rear sound, this has more body and projection, which I think is excellent.
It creates a mild, slightly muffled rear tone, avoiding harshness and making it much easier to use.

ヴァンザンド製テレキャスターのセットアップです。

比較的購入できる様な金額帯でも音質が良く弾き易いメーカーとしてお勧めしています。

ヴァンザンドも昔はかなり良かったブランドですが、他メーカーと同じく昔と変わった印象はあります。
値段もヴァンザンドに限らず値上がりして高額なブランドとなってしまい手に取り難いメーカーとなりましたがまだ良い個体もあると思います。

また大体はちゃんと調整できていない、ネックが順反りして弦高が高いままで普通に新品で販売されていたりと環境がずさんな売り方をしているので値段が高くても基本は購入したらセットアップが基本です。

調整する事で弾き易い状態に仕上げる事ができました。

This is a Van Zandt Telecaster setup.

We recommend them as a manufacturer with good sound quality and easy to play, even at a relatively affordable price range.

Van Zand used to be a very good brand, but like other makers, I have the impression that it has changed since then.
Prices have gone up, not only for Van Zandt, and it has become an expensive brand, making it difficult to pick up, but I think there are still some good pieces.

In addition, most of them are sold in a sloppy environment, with the neck not being adjusted properly and the strings being sold as new with the neck warped in the forward direction and the string height still high.

トーカイ製プレシジョンベースのPU交換・ノイズ対策処理です。

PUはヴァンザント製ヴィンテージプラスに交換です。

ノイズ処理塗料をザグリ内に塗る加工になります。
ノイズ対策を行えばパッシブでもノイズに強い効果を得られますが反対に高域を削る結果となります。
ノイズには強くなりますが音質と言う意味では劣化する事になります。

ピックガード裏にはモントルーのピックガード用の大きいアルミテープを貼ってより対策しております。

Youtube動画でも紹介したモデルですが加工前・加工後の状態が見れますので確認下さい。

PU replacement and noise reduction treatment for Tokai Precision Bass.

The PU is replaced with a Van Zandt Vintage Plus.

Noise treatment paint is applied to the inside of the counterweight.
Noise suppression will give a strong effect against noise even with a passive bass, but on the contrary, it will result in the reduction of the high frequency range.
Although it is more resistant to noise, the sound quality will be degraded.

We put a large aluminum tape for Montreux pickguard on the back of the pickguard to prevent this problem.

Emotion ストラトキャスターナット溝切り調整＆フレットすり合わせ＆ポット交換 VANZANDT VINTAGE PLUS

エモーション製ストラトキャスターのナット溝切り調整・フレットすり合わせ・ポット交換です。

音詰まり箇所があり状態悪いです。弾き込まれていればどうしてもフレットはすり減りますので修理が必要になってきます。

ヴァンザント製ヴィンテージプラスに交換、ボリュームにガリで交換しました。

お客様の方で3弦6弦が引っ込められてて、バランスが良いサウンドになっています。

シングルコイルは未だに弦の音量バランスが悪く、メーカーも素人だったりするのでその異常に気が付かず昔の仕様のまま今に至っている物もかなり多いです。

この弦の音量バランスは非常に重要で、特にギターはコードで鳴らす事が多いのでその弦の音量が合っていないとすれば音が大きい弦が強調され音が小さい弦が聞こえ難くなりミュート気味・鳴りが甘い様な音になるので結果としてコードが綺麗に鳴らなくなります。

PUを交換して音を良くする考えよりも、ポールピースの高さを直した方が音を良くする意味では効果が上だと思います。

状態も良くなり音も良くなったのでギターとして良いモデルに生まれ変わったと思います。

This is an Emotion Stratocaster with nut groove cut adjustment, fret grind, and pot replacement.

The guitar is in bad condition with a clogged part. The frets are inevitably worn out if the guitar has been played a lot, so repairs are necessary.

Replaced with Van Zandt Vintage Plus, and replaced the volume with a buzzing sound.

The customer has retracted the third and sixth strings, resulting in a well-balanced sound.

Single coil guitars still have a poor string volume balance, and because the makers are amateurs, many of them are still using the old specifications without noticing the anomaly.

The volume balance of the strings is very important, especially since guitars are often played on chords. If the volume of the strings is not correct, the loud strings will be emphasized and the quiet strings will be hard to hear, resulting in a muted or sweet sound, and the chords will not sound beautiful.

In my opinion, fixing the height of the pole piece is more effective in terms of improving the sound than replacing the PU to improve the sound.

I think it has been reborn as a good model as a guitar since it is in better condition and sounds better.

FenderUSA プレシジョンベース 74年製配線直し&セットアップ vanzandt vintage plus

フェンダーUSA製プレシジョンベースの配線直し・セットアップです。

音が出なくなったり音がおかしいとの事で持ち込まれました。

ジャックの消耗が原因そうな事と、配線が素人作業されており全体的に不安な状態です。

ジャックを交換し素人ハンダ付け箇所を直してみたが音が細く、PUが断線している様な音です。

しかしPUはテスターでチェックしてみるとしっかりとkΩの反応があるのですが、明らかに音量が小さく細い音色です。

またPUを動かすと音が細くなったりする状態で、PU本体の根本も素人ハンダ付けされている状態でした。
もしかしたらPU本体の配線材も変えられているかもしれない様子です。
恐らく前オーナーがヴィンテージ配線やポット等を入手して後から交換した物？かもしれないです。
もしくはフルオリジナルに近い状態にして売ろうとした様な状態かもしれません。

PU本体の配線の交換、ハンダの付け直しを行ってみました。
それでもPUを押し込んだりして負荷を与えると音が細くなったりするのでもしかすると内部のコイルが切れ掛かっている状態なのかもしれないです。

ただPU本体に極端な負荷（PU本体を強く押し込む等）をしなければ現状では音が安定して出ているのですが、作業後は弾いてて音が細くなる事は無かったです。
しかし状態として不安なのでお客様にはPU交換を推奨しました。

後日、やはり音が細くなったりしましたのでPUを交換する事となりました。

ヴァンザント製ヴィンテージプラスに交換しました。

音がマイルドだが張りや明るさもあり、ピック弾き等でも暴れて音が細く聞こえる事も無いのでかなり優秀PUです。

モッサリし過ぎず、硬くて細くも聞こえない非常に良いバランスです。
いわゆるフェンダー的な音を安定して使い易くしたサウンドとなります。

ヴィンテージギター・ベースはどうしても状態が悪い事や古いパーツに価値がある事から意図的に手を加えて販売されている事も多いです。
状態が悪い事が大半なので、トラブルが起こる様であれば現行のパーツに交換が無難です。

This is a rewiring and setup of a Fender USA Precision Bass.

It was brought in because of a loss of sound or something wrong with the sound.

The jack seemed to be worn out and the wiring had been done by an amateur.

We replaced the jack and fixed the amateur soldering points, but the sound was thin and it sounded like the PU was disconnected.

However, when the PU is checked with a tester, there is a solid kΩ response, but the tone is clearly low in volume and thin.

Also, when the PU is moved, the sound becomes thinner. The root of the PU was also soldered by an amateur.
The wiring material of the PU may have been changed.
Perhaps the previous owner obtained vintage wiring, pots, etc. and replaced them later? Or, it may have been changed afterwards.
Or, it may be that the previous owner tried to sell it in a state close to the full original condition.

I tried replacing the wiring and re-soldering the PU itself.
However, when I push the PU into the guitar and give it a load, the sound becomes thinner, so it may be that the internal coil is on the verge of breaking.

However, if I do not put extreme load on the PU (e.g., pushing the PU hard), the sound is stable, but after the work, the sound does not become thin.
However, I recommended replacing the PU to the customer because of the uncertain state of the PU.

Later on, the sound was still thin, so we decided to replace the PU.

We replaced it with a Van Zandt Vintage Plus.

The sound is mild, but it has tension and brightness, and it doesn’t sound too thin when I play with a pick.

It is not too mushy, not too hard and not too thin sounding.
It is not too mushy, not too hard and not too thin, but a very good balance.

Vintage guitars and basses are often sold with some intentional modifications because of their poor condition and the value of old parts.
If you are having trouble with it, it is better to replace it with current parts.

VanZandt ストラトキャスターブリッジ交換＆セットアップ Vega-Trem VT1 Ultra Trem standard

ヴァンザント製ストラトキャスターのブリッジ交換＆セットアップです。

Vega-Trem製VT1 Ultra Trem standardという物で、ストラトキャスター等に無加工でポン付け可能とされているブリッジです。

こちらはブレードタイプになる事でフロイドローズの様な仕様となります。
ビスによる接点がナイフエッジとなるのでアームの動きもスムーズになり狂いも減ります。

また裏のスプリングをイモネジで固定できる所もポイントが高く、ここがユルユルだったりするとバネが動く事からチューニングが安定しない原因にもなるはずですので固定できるのは喜ばしいです。
またスプリングは張られているので精神的にも飛び出てこないか怖いので（実際はそうならないが気持ちとして）固定されていると安心です。

音が太くローミッドが出る個体です。
特にブリッジの音では無いと思いますがこのブリッジに交換して不都合（音質が偏る等）は起きていない様に感じるので、使い易くなったけど音が良くない！みないにはならないです。

This is a bridge replacement and setup for a Van Zandt Stratocaster.

This is a VT1 Ultra Trem standard bridge made by Vega-Trem, which can be attached to a Stratocaster without any modification.

This bridge is a blade type, similar to a Floyd Rose.
The contact point with the screw is knife-edged, so the movement of the arm becomes smoother and the deviation is reduced.

It is also important to be able to fix the spring on the back of the bridge with an imo screw, because if the spring is loose here, it will cause the spring to move, which will lead to unstable tuning.
Also, since the springs are taut, I am mentally afraid that they will pop out (which in fact they won’t, but just as a feeling), so I feel safer when they are fixed.

This is an individual with a fat sound and low mid.
I don’t think it is the sound of the bridge in particular, but I don’t feel that any inconvenience (such as a bias in sound quality) has occurred after replacing the bridge with this one, so it is easier to use but the sound is not good! It is easy to use, but the sound is not so good!

FenderJAPAN Eシリアルストラトキャスター PU交換＆セットアップ VANZANDT VINTAGE PLUS

フェンダージャパン製ストラトキャスター、EシリアルのPU交換・セットアップです。

フロントのみヴァンザント製ヴィンテージプラスに交換です。自分も好きなPUですね。

ヴァンザント製PUは特にシングルPUが優秀で、価格も他と比べて安いのでシングルコイルPUの交換なら選択肢としてはまずこれらが入ってくる事と思います。

音の粘りや太さが丁度良いバランスです。
ヴァンザント製もヴィンテージプラスやトゥルーヴィンテージが売れ線と思いますが、近年は他メーカー品が品薄になっている背景からこうしたパーツも買える内に購入していた方が良いかもしれません。

This is a PU replacement and setup for a Fender Japan Stratocaster, E serial.

Only front PU is replaced with Van Zandt Vintage Plus. I like this PU.

Van Zandt’s PUs are excellent, especially single PUs, and their price is lower than other PUs.

The sound has just the right balance of stickiness and fatness.
Vintage Plus and True Vintage are the best sellers in the Van Zandt line, but with the recent shortage of other makers’ products, it would be better to buy these parts while you can.

ヴァンザンド製ストラトキャスターのナット交換・フレットすり合わせ・ポット交換・ジャック交換です。

ナットが消耗で音詰まり、フレット消耗が凄い,ヴォリュームにガリ、ジャック不良で音出ない箇所等と全体的に消耗がかなり大きい状態です。

また電装は素人作業？でハンダ付けが全体的に汚い状態でしたので、恐らく前オーナーの酷い作業で電装パーツにダメージがあった事と思います。

ナット交換とフレットすり合わせはセットで行うとより良い状態になります。
フレットを削り直した後でナットの高さも仕上げられるので全体的に弾き易さが向上します。

各所リペアする事で問題無い状態に復元する事ができました。
