  • Fender Made in Japan Junior Collection Jazzmaster ナット溝切り調整＆セットアップ

  • フェンダージャパン製ジャズマスターのナット溝切り調整・セットアップです。

    新品ですが弦高が高く弾き難い状態です。

    トラスロッドに余裕少なく、ナットの高さが高い所と低い所があり押さえ難いです。

    ナット溝切りも元があまり良くなく、溝がV字（弦に合っておらず弦の底面に隙間ができている）になっている箇所があり溝切りすると大きく溝高が変わる所があって本当にダメな溝切りがされています。
    下手に溝切りするとナットが死んだりする（低くなり過ぎる）ので、リペアマン泣かせな酷い状態でした。
    フェンダージャパン製のクオリティも落ちてきたなと思います。

    耳に痛い音がせず、音の分離が良い個体でした。
    ジャズマスターのプリセットスイッチが省かれたモデルで、恐らくポットも250ｋΩが使われていると思いますが通常のジャズマスターの様なギラギラとしたサウンドにならず扱い易いです。

    This is a nut slot adjustment and setup for a Fender Japan Jazzmaster.

    Although it’s brand new, the string action is too high, making it difficult to play.

    There’s very little play in the truss rod, and the nut height varies—some spots are too high and others too low—making it hard to fret the strings.

    The original nut grooves were also poorly cut; in some places, the grooves were V-shaped (not aligned with the strings, leaving gaps at the bottom of the strings), and in other spots, the groove depth changed drastically when cut—truly a botched job.
    Since cutting the grooves improperly can “kill” the nut (by making it too low), this was a terrible condition that would make any repair technician cry.
    I feel like the quality of Fender Japan guitars has really declined.

    This particular guitar didn’t produce any harsh sounds and had excellent tonal separation.
    It’s a Jazzmaster model without the preset switch; I suspect it uses 250kΩ pots, but it doesn’t have the harsh, piercing sound of a standard Jazzmaster, making it very easy to play.

  • パフォーマンスギター製ストラトキャスターのフレットすり合わせです。

    フレット全体が錆びており、錆び取りも含めてフレットすり合わせです。

    特に状態等は問題ありませんが、ラッカー塗装でケースに入れっぱなしだと揮発した塗装がフレットを錆びさせる事もある様子です。
    シリカゲル等を入れて保管していても、定期的にケースを開けて空気の循環は必要と思います。

    P-90が3つ付いたストラトキャスターですが、音の芯が強く立ち上がりが早いサウンドです。
    国産ギターみたいな音とクオリティでした。

    This is a fret leveling job on a Performance Guitar Stratocaster.

    The frets were completely rusted, so the fret leveling included rust removal.

    There were no particular issues with the guitar’s condition, but it seems that if a lacquer-finished guitar is left in its case for too long, the evaporated lacquer can cause the frets to rust.
    Even if you store it with silica gel or similar desiccants, I think it’s necessary to open the case periodically to allow air to circulate.

    This Stratocaster is equipped with three P-90 pickups and produces a sound with a strong core and fast attack.
    It had the sound and quality of a Japanese-made guitar.

  • エピフォン製フライングVのセットアップです。

    新品ですが音詰まり箇所がある状態です。

    エピフォン製のエレキギターラインは状態が悪い物が多い印象です。
    箱物は何故か優秀ですが、通常のエレキギターラインの品質は信用できないので購入前に細かくチェックしていた方が良いです。

    音詰まりがある際はとにかく早く購入店に状態を伝えて直してもらうか同じモデルの問題無い物に交換してもらった方が良いです。

    酷い楽器店だと「弦高が低いだけ」と言い出し、かなり弦高を上げて返品不可にされたりします（実際に過去に実例有り）。

    だから購入前に楽器店の言う事は信用せず、正しく調整ができた状態にして目の前で確認させないとダメです。

    This is a setup for an Epiphone Flying V.

    It’s brand new, but there are some spots where the sound gets muffled.

    I get the impression that many Epiphone electric guitars are in poor condition.
    For some reason, their hollow-body models are excellent, but the quality of their standard electric guitar line isn’t reliable, so it’s best to inspect them thoroughly before buying.

    If you notice any muffled sound, you should immediately contact the store where you bought it to have it fixed or exchanged for a problem-free unit of the same model.

    Some unscrupulous music stores might claim, “It’s just the string action that’s too low,” and then raise the string action significantly, making the instrument non-returnable (this has actually happened in the past).

    That’s why you shouldn’t trust what the music store tells you before buying; you must insist that they set it up properly and let you verify it right in front of you.

  • アイバニーズ製SR506Eのセットアップです。

    トラスロッドが2本入ったモデルで低価格帯の6弦ベースです。

    順反りして弦高がやや高い状態です。

    トラスロッドが2本入ったモデルは低音弦側と高音弦の両方にトラスロッドを効かす事となる為、必然的に捻じれが起き易いです。
    どうしても弦の太さが大きく異なる為、長く使っていけば捻じれやウネリが起きてきても不思議ではありません。

    特に調整に不具合はありませんでしたが低価格帯的なフレット状態な事もあり、弦高はそこまで低くは調整できませんが音が良く弾き易いモデルです。

    This is the setup for an Ibanez SR506E.

    It’s a budget-friendly 6-string bass featuring two truss rods.

    The neck is bowing outward, resulting in slightly high string action.

    Since models with two truss rods apply tension to both the low-string and high-string sides, they are inherently prone to twisting.
    Since the string gauges differ significantly, it’s not surprising that twisting or warping might occur over time with prolonged use.

    Although there were no particular issues with the adjustment, given the typical low-end condition of the frets, the string height couldn’t be set very low; however, it’s a model that sounds great and is easy to play.

  • アイバニーズ製SR4AHの電池スナップ交換・セットアップです。

    音が出ない状態です。

    チェックしてみると電池スナップの断線でした。
    新しい電池スナップに交換し、音が出ました。

    大きく順反りして弾き難い状態をセットアップし弾き易い状態に直しました。

    弾き易く音が良い、プリアンプがパワフルなモデルです。

    This is a battery snap replacement and setup for an Ibanez SR4AH.

    It wasn’t producing any sound.

    Upon inspection, I found that the battery snap was broken.
    I replaced it with a new one, and it started producing sound again.

    I adjusted the neck, which was significantly bowing backward and making it difficult to play, to make it more comfortable to play.

    This model is easy to play, has great tone, and features a powerful preamp.

    スプリングを2本にした上で調整する内容です。

    弾き易く音抜けが良いモデルで、音のタイトさと力強さのある音質です。

    歪み時の音が太く、分離が良いのでハイゲインでも扱い易い個体になるでしょう。

    This setup involves adjusting the guitar with two springs installed.

    This model is easy to play and has excellent sound projection, with a tight and powerful tone.

  • ヤマハ製F600のセットアップです。

    やや順反りで弾き難い状態です。

    2～3万円の低価格帯モデルですが音が非常に良く、流石ヤマハだと思います。

    私も昔は非常に音が良い3万円位で購入したヤマハのアコギを使ってましたが、現行品でも手に入るモデルがF600の様子です。

    調整してみるとアコギにしては弦高が低めで弾き易いモデルでした。
    昔はナット高が高くブリッジ弦高も高かったので、この2点を修正した上で使用していましたが現行品はどちらも良く出来ていて最初から音が良いからこそ最高な一品です。

    アコギはこれで充分だと思います。

    This is the setup for a Yamaha F600.

    The neck is slightly bowing outward, making it a bit difficult to play.

    Although it’s a low-end model priced between 20,000 and 30,000 yen, it sounds fantastic—truly a testament to Yamaha’s quality.

    I used to play a Yamaha acoustic guitar that I bought for around 30,000 yen that sounded amazing, and it seems the F600 is the model you can still get today.

    After adjusting it, I found that the string action was on the low side for an acoustic guitar, making it very easy to play.
    In the past, the nut height was high and the bridge string action was also high, so I used to have to adjust both of those points before playing. However, the current model is well-made in both respects and sounds great right out of the box, which is why it’s such a fantastic instrument.

    I think this is more than enough for an acoustic guitar.

    音が良いモデルで、柔らかさと音抜けのバランスが良いテレキャスターです。

    現行品で購入できるテレキャスターとしては音が良い部類としてお勧めです。

    20万円程度で購入できるモデルとしてはかなりお手頃なモデルです。

  • キクチギター製MV5のセットアップです。

    中古購入との事ですが状態良い個体です。

    触ってみると殆どサドウスキー？に見えるベースです。

    付いているパーツもサドウスキーと同じ？なのか弾き易さも音も似てる印象があります。

    値段的にも同じ位の価格帯の様子で、海外ブランドは値上がりしていく傾向ですのでサドウスキーよりは安く買える同等品の互換モデルとしても良い選択肢になってくると思います。

    Here’s the setup for the Kikuchi Guitar MV5.

    I understand you purchased this secondhand, but it’s in great condition.

    When I tried it out, it felt almost exactly like a Sadowsky bass.

    The parts seem to be the same as those on a Sadowsky, and I get the impression that both the playability and the sound are similar.

    Price-wise, it seems to be in the same range, and since overseas brands tend to keep getting more expensive, I think this makes for a great option as an equivalent, compatible model that you can buy for less than a Sadowsky.

  • サー製Modernのポット交換・セットアップです。

    ポットにガリで音が出なくなったりする状態です。

    また順反りし弦高が高い状態です。

    トラスロッドは余裕少なそうで、調整は行えましたがちゃんと弦を緩めて保管していないと長持ちしなさそうです。

    ポットは消耗品なのでガリが出たタイミングで交換しないといずれは音が出ない状態になってくるので、大事な時に大きな不具合に繋がりますので注意です。

    This is a pot replacement and setup for a S-brand Modern guitar.

    The pots were producing a scratchy sound and had stopped working properly.

    The neck was also bowing forward, resulting in high string action.

    The truss rod didn’t seem to have much play left; while I was able to make the adjustment, the guitar likely won’t last long unless the strings are properly loosened when in storage.

    Pots are consumable parts, so if you don’t replace them as soon as you hear that scratchy sound, they’ll eventually stop working altogether—which could lead to major issues when you need the guitar most, so please be careful.
